It was a plant in veg format! That's why I can't figure out what the problem is - is it a bug in version 8?

There's a $300 discount when upgrading from version 8, $695 for 10.5, $890 with one year maintenance. Still that's a big chunk of money. It sound like there are a lot of improvements, though. Is standard maintenance worth the $200 extra? Are they coming out with version 11 anytime soon? I would hate to pay the extra for maintence, and not even get an upgrade out of it.

Thanks for the suggestions, as it turns out, something was corrupted in Vue, and the only way to fix the problem was to uninstall, then reinstall Vue. That solved the problem, the porportions make sense now, and the sizes of things aren't crazy and all over the place like they were previously. Weird way for an application to get corrupted. I don't know how to avoid corrupting Vue like that in the future, since I have no idea why it happened in the first place.

I can't figure out how to do that in the joint editor. I tried selecting the body, setting the center point parameters to zeros, clicking align, ....nothing. I have very little experience with the joint editor, I don't know what I'm doing so it's just trial & error.

I'm using the Date Palm. It looks great at a distance, but forget closeups. I tried all of the above suggestions, thanks but none of them solved the problem. I think bruno021 is probably right, it's just bad images, poor quality on the tree.
The only solution (other than postwork, which I'm going to try) I think is to just use better quality trees for closeups, and save the native Vue trees for ecosystems. Does anyone know where there are high quality trees available that are suitable for closeup renders?

I have several of Lisa's and Traveler's plants, great to know they work well in ecosystems. I also want to get more plants in veg format from Cornucopia 3D. They are more expensive than Lisa's, but like artpearl and thefixer said, you get more variation in ecosystems. Thanks
