I, last summer, had an opportunity to shoot digital pictures with an individual using a Fugi Camera. I had a Sony 707. The Fugi owner was very envois as my batteries seemed to hold out much longer then his. My 707 has been my favorite toy for the last year, I would not trade it for anything. True it costs about $1000, pretty pricey, but for quality photos, including indoor concert shots and outdoor nature everything in between you can't go wring. The new one is, I believe the 714, in spite of some drawbacks, the memory stick is a little expensive, the Sony 707/714 rule.

All well and fine except that when I load the program it shuts down. When I try to register the program I am told the serial number they gave me is useless. I wish I could just load the thing once regardless of how it works, or doesn't work.

I am as guilty as ayone about bieng excited about this program, however.....since I render in Cinema 4D, what good is a new rederer(Spelling)? to me? Hair? cool, but one can get wodnerfull free hair downloads from digital babes among others, whatever the hair is it can't be much better then the DB freebies. New characters? Also cool except we already have Vickie 1 and 2 and countless 3rd party variations on vickie and whomever. I just want the face thing so I can finally get my 3D version of Pamala Anderson with a sword, and if anyone elso out there does Pamala Anderson with a sword I will sue for stealing my completely original Idea!!!! I mean that too!! someon is always taking my ideas!!!

Not to be a smart ass, but I am a big Cinema 4D user, a German company, how about there $500 + upgrade? is it the same in Europe as in the US? How about all those cool British 3D mags, Computer Arts, 3D world, Digit etc? Europe is miles ahead of the US in magazine's (I buy them as often as they come out) Do they not have something to say, CL advertises big time in them and they have offered Poser 3 for free, it seems odd.

I own Mr Mortiers first book. I stand by my original post (On Amazon.com) that I would rather have Mortiers book then none at all, as for his repeat sales I am at a loss to explain this, the opinions on his book come from varied sources from very different perspectives, one can see that by the writing styles, but the facts are the facts,

1. His book had many animals not included in the program, a bear, a deer a monkey and so on.
2. His rendering advice consited of telling people to buy other software packages, this was prior to pro-pack and therefore it is doubtfull animated scenes could have been rendered in this way.
3. His tutorials were beyond the scope of common reason or sanity, I give these examples: A sharks head on a skeleton, human heads on fingers, a squashed cat (cat haters, no doubt, found this helpfull) a mangled hourse and on and on. It is his right to make such abominations, but to put them out as a tutorial, to have a project that, in essance, would be a mistake if made properly, a dogs head totem pole, yes you read correctly. 4. His many, many inacurate and outdated refrences to orphaned or non existant software, he says that "posemation" cames with a leatehr bound two disk set, this is horse hockey and the Posemation people told me this themselves (granted they had a promotional item a long time ago, but it is long gone. Hid advice from the "poser masters" consisted of "buy 3D studio max" for the most part. Regarldess of how hard he worked, others have clearly worked harder and deserve our hard earned money more then this man, Susan Kitchens comes to mind. It is not complaining when warns a prospective buyer, one on a budget, that they need not spend $50. to learn that one can make a jaw really really long by turning a knob (one of his many tutorials). I do not wish him ill but he is not a good example of a Poser auther, chck out the pro-pack book instead.

My Poser CD broke too. I told the folks at CL about it, they sent me a new one for $5.00. Well worth it I think, if you have your original serial number you should be OK.

Just have to put in my 2 12 cents here. Shamm's Mortiers Poser book is deeply flawed, I was willing to give him the benifit of the doubt since there simply was no other Poser book out at the time. I saw he had a Bryce 5 book, I never even picked it up off the shelf, why oh why does this man continue to be published? BTW I disagreee about the Cinema 4D handbook, I liked it and so did many others. Susan Kitchens is incredible and everyone should have her Bryce book, too cool. It is deeply disturbing that the man who gave the world the sharks head on a skeletan and the dog's head totem pole, no I'm not kidding, would be allowed to put his crayon to paper again, I hope at least this time he does not give advice on how to work with animals not in the program, how to used orphaned 3rd party software or, for the love of God, to make someones neck really really long, yeeesh!

Karol, both for Possette and Vickie is the best African/female texture I have ever used. FInd it in the archives, I'm sure its still there.

what about Poser? Can my Poser animations be exported?

The anti-Poser people seem to be the same crowd that turns up there nose at every film that comes out and think that only people who agree with them are educated. The reality is that most Poser users pay for there software, I know for a fact that lots of the Lightwave/Maya crowd use bootlegged/cracked programs and then sneer at those of us who pay our way. Cinema 4D is not a snobby program however, at the student prices one can get it for about $200, speaking of which I have a brand new copy of Final Cut pro 2 (Upgradable) in the box, cellophane and all, for sale, cheap. I use a PC.

Your Preaching to the choir, I have been a Future mag junkie since I discovered 3D world, the ones you mentioned are, by far, the best, also CGI magazine and you like music Future Music and Computer Music are must have for all the free samples, I spend far too much money on magazines but I must have every title you mentioned, are all of them "future" titles? It seems all the good ones are. Too band the US has nothing to compare, the latest Digit has teh Maya learning edition, the one that won't download and takes forever to mail in for, too cool, and the reviews and news are must haves.
