Yeah, it can import Wavefront objects, but as you say. If you buy a piece of software and it has an export facility to a particular program, the export facility should work! If not, what else isn't working? 3d Studio Max is a pretty important piece of software for a nich of the userbase that use Poser. It should work.
Thread: Does anybody know how to make models for The Sims? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, just using Poser isn't possible since the polycount is way too high for the Sims. I think you will have to either create the model directly in for instance Milkshape, which is a shareware modeller, or make it in Poser and then reduce the polycount down to a fraction of Poser's native files. I could imagine that it would take a shorter while to build it directly in a low-poly-modeller than to use polyreduction methods, given the amount of postwork this would entail.
Thread: Improper file format when exporting .3DS file... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Sorry, didn't see the thread further down in the forum. And I did a forum search and all. Sorry about the repetition, but my question still stands. :-)
Thread: Exporting Victoria 3 to 3DS, Improper file format?! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Damn, this happened to me too but with Don, and I didn't see this thread before I posted my own question (see above). And I did a search of the forum and all. :-)

But given the lack of things for Don and Judy, wouldn't that be a terrific market to corner? This question is directed to the content creators out there. I mean, a LOT more people use Don and Judy than Vic and Mike for the simple reason that most people are quite broke after having bought Poser. They'd probably be only to happy to buy trinkets and clothes for Judy and Don instead of shelling out even more for Vic and Mike, and then shell out for clothes and stuff. Where's people's spirit of enterprise these days? :-)
Thread: New Critic in Town | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
No offence, but I tend to paraphrase Barbara Cartland's immortal words whenever I see a critic that want to tell other people what to do with their work. She said, something like, "People that can't write a coherent postcard tell me how to write a novel...". How can you give effective critiques when you do not know the characteristics of the material, the limits and possibilities of a certain technique, the limits or possibilities of each color and how they fit with each other to achieve certain effects, the limit and possibilities of the apertures and focal lengths of the simulated cameras employed in this program? As I said, I mean no offence, but your critiques would for these reasons be near useless -- and all they would do is pamper to some sort of ideal of how art should be rather than how are is.

I mean, it's all JJB's fault, you know. Everything. The death star, the emperor, Vader. It's all JJB's fault. Who was it that got up in the senate and told everyone to give the 'emperor' unlimited powers and authority? Hmmm? It's his fault.
Thread: I need Seamen! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
#4 Perhaps I've misspelled something? English isn't my native language, after all. Who knows with us furriners, how we mangle the language ;-)

Why didn't I find that? I spent an hour looking. I must be going blind... :-) A question to PhilC, if he's reading this: how adaptable is that? I need a bit of cultural realism, which means the cape-thingamabob must have a blue band along it. I can't put a modern american seaman on board a british vessel after all. :-)
Thread: P5 saving image problem | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm also having problems saving images from P5. If I render anything else than a P5 model at production level the save image never comes forward. It always tries to save as pz3... It's really stumping me.

Thread: Judy, Don, Mike or Victoria... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Those images are excellent, dave-so! :-) I think pictures of blemish-free, perfect people tend to be very boring since there's a suspension-of-disbelief problem with them (which is important in CG, imho). Yours are very human.

So, you who have both sets -- how do they compare? Should I go out and buy Mike and Vickie as well?
