Then instead of "beating around the bush" will someone who owns or operates this site please come out and say it...Renderosity is actually a "cliqueish" small group of friends who feed off of each others egos and who do not tolerate any correspondence from it's members other than ego stroking even if they ask, "Tell me what you REALLY think of my simply beautiful art!" So cliche I won't talk about this anymore. Heaven forbid I inspire a new label like you good people did for the word, "troll". I think we all know...we just won't all admit it. I wouldn't mind having one of you good moderators to please help me in deleting any imagery I may have posted on this site in the past. ...but you can leave the comments, especially the ones left by "trolls". You see, they never bothered me. I am quite fond of them actually. My ego never needed reassurance from fellow members. See you in reality, Frank Miller (Omen555)

Content Advisory! This message contains nudity, violence
You people are mocking a tragedy in artistic expression that this particular web site has chosen to exercise in banning freedom of speech, Religion, and expression, an Constitutional freedom that is afforded all Americans yet a right not worthy of any free or open minded artist who wishes to express themselves in such a manner here...
..so many of us flocked here in the hopes to express ourselves diversely yet artistically only to be told we are not the norm which we already knew for we are artists...
...our words as well as our art is judged by Renderosity as to wether or not it is fit to be displayed on this website which is entirely their right...it's their website...
..but it's YOUR choice.
Thank goodness Renderosity is not the only choice.
...ban me if you wish...I understand you are experts at sacrificing artistic expressionism for self preservation these days.

Thread: Altered Image Contest All artists welcome! | Forum: Contest Announcements
Hello Elsina. My name is Frank Miller and I help out at Altered.Image, the host of the contest in question. First of all, Wow...you spent two weeks on a couple images, made the deadline, but never got them posted nor replied to about it. Your disapointment is valid and understandable. This is the first I or anyone at Altered.Image knew of this problem you had and allow me to explain why... ...Gem, the person responsible for the reception, coordination, and posting of all contest entries unfortunately was dealt a severe blow to communication and pretty much entirely "crippled" when she lost all of her hushmail accounts of which she used almost exclusively. I was told she immediately posted a notice to the Altered.Image main page and contest page (still there in fact) but by then the contest was more than half over. So as you can see, unless you were to return to the main page or contest page, you would never know about the problem and the new address to use. You more than likely are not alone in your disapointment as there very well may have been other entries submitted that we never knew about if they did not resend them to the new address that was posted in the notice. I have been asked to extend a sincere apology to you and to any other artists who may have been neglected with contest submissions that were on time but missent to the wrong address. Altered.Image is a non-profit artists resource website that provides educated opinions and other information on current software, hardware, and literature relevant to Computer Graphics and Art. I wish we could afford dependable re-directing email accounts and we are working on this for the future but as for now, I understand that does not help you and for that, I am deeply sorry however I assure you, had we known of your entries we would have posted them. I am sending you this same reply via email.

snickers @ bushi I never thought of it that way. *grin movida - Not true. The winner of Altered.Image's last contest was with an altered photograh by Coby Cyr titled, "Not Deep Enough" proving that a truly diverse and accomplished artist can make a powerful image using what little they have at their disposal...art is not in the program or the brush or locked somewhere within the canvas, it is within the artist...well, most artists.

The funniest thing I ever saw posted at Renderosity was an image by member Versionthirteen titled, "COMPLETELY NUDE!!!!". Once you clicked on the thumbnail, you were greeted by an image mocking you for following your primitive carnal instincts. Now THAT is what I call affecting your target audience. I wish I had thought of it first but still glad that someone did. Can you imagine if HUNDREDS of thumbs hinting to sex and pornography were posted here only to link to images of actual art for art's sake? One thing for sure, your image view count would go up and thousands of perverts everywhere would despise you...but they still would keep clicking. snicker

I am with Varian on this. I suggest that a "Fine Arts" gallery and a "2D Image editor" gallery be made...or some variation there of.

Rate someone a "2" and then tell them and everyone you did it, even give an opinionated explanation why and see if it's a "matter of life or death" or not...you would think you just killed their dog or something. I vote it doest sucketh.

People need advice at times on subjects they lack knowledge of. PHOTOGRAPHY...I don't know Jack or Jill about it so you can bet I will come here to ask these gurus. No one knows what Syyd or Colm knew about Photography until they started giving advice here (atleast I didn't know). Now that I know they know their stuff, I'll be back. The same probably applies to other members shrug.
Thread: Ratings | Forum: Photography
I, like Colm, never allow ratings and I never give them. Comments, sure. This rating debate has raged on this site and others for a long time Marshmallowpie. Colm gave good advice, if you insist that you want to leave someone a rating, remember that many artists take it personally if you leave them less than a 10. Many don't care, but many more do and they know it. It's an ego thing. It used to be that when you gave someone a rating, everyone could see what you rated an image. You should have seen the trouble that caused. Lots of grudges and spiteful acts of vengeance. You can see they changed it now however, and it's for the better. "One mans Picasso is another mans toilet paper..." ...isn't that a redundancy Colm?...evil laugh Omen555 who doesn't care for Picasso's art.

"Beware friends bearing gifts." Strange that this image should remind me of this saying. I suppose the reminder is in this characters body language which would suggest that you have made this female character impressionable and believable. Success is yours.
