Thread: Genesis character question | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Hi Richard. Thanks for the help. I could not get it to work, but did manage to tweak the texture settings so that the lips were in the right place on my genesis creature. I did have one last question. When I bought Daz Studio 3 Advanced I also bought PW shaders collection and Light Dome Pro 2. Do I need to repurchase them for use in Daz Studio 4 Advanced (4.0.3.19), or is there some upgrade option?
Thanks,
David

Actually it is the texture map. I like the Female Frost Giant texture for the head, but want the Male Frost Giant texture for the rest of the body. This was the only way I thought of that would allow me to use both sets of textures. I'm using Daz 4.0.3.19 Advanced edition.
If you know an easier way to accomplish this, I'm all ears.
Thanks,
David
Thread: Genesis question | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Hi. I have a started using the genesis figures and have a few follow up questions.
http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/blue-rose-max-free/462834
Can Daz Studio 4 import it or is there some way to make it more user friendly? I'm on a mac and don't have 3ds Max and because the item is free they will not convert it into another format. Any ideas?
Thanks for all the help.
Sincerely,
David

Thread: A few questions re Daz Studio 4 Advanced | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I purchased my upgrade to Daz Studio 4 Advanced and am enjoying it. My only concern is when I'm using the Fourth generation figures and content I can't seem to get the clothes to follow the morphes. I know in Daz 3 Advanced there was a morph follower or something to that effect but I can't seem to find it in the new version.
Also PW shaders (toon, ghost etc) are they compatible with DS 4 Advanced or do I need to purchase them again? What about Light Dome Pro?
Thanks,
David

Thanks. I ended up going with the Wacom Intuos 4 (medium size). I'm using a mouse and pen combination and it's working great.
Thanks,

Thread: Daz Studio 64 bit for the Mac | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Faster would be nice, but I would be happy if they just fixed the render to .mov bug that still persists.
On another note I have finished revising the script for my animation project (75 scenes over 80 pages) and have 95% of the actors needed for the voice work. I also have started creating my characters in Daz Studio.
Overly ambitious: yes
Maybe crazy: probably
Trying to figure out how to create a lavish ballroom scene without key framing all 20 couples waltzing: stumped
How are you?

I know this may seem like a really stupid question, but, could somebody remind me again what the benefits of a 64 bit system would be, other than access to more ram?

Thread: particle illusion | Forum: Animation
Thanks for responding. One of the big scenes involves the bridge of a prototype starship having panel explode and sections catch fire, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this. I'm planning on using Daz Studio, which as far as I know has no particles. I guess the big thing is the render size. Does particle illusion have a limit to the size that it can render out too? I plan to render everything at HD size and quality. Also how good is it a layering? Can I render out to an image sequence with alpha masks to be put together later in photoshop? What about about the hyperspace effect used in Star Wars to create the streaking lines, or tornados (for a plasma storm sequence)? Can the program handle these? Also are the stock effects editable?
Are there other programs that can do these things better or easier? Especially easier as I'm really new to this sort of thing.
Thanks for all your help.

Thread: Vue and Daz Studio | Forum: Vue
Hi. I tried using both the .obj export and the method THD777 suggested and it still causes my copy to freeze and then crash. I'm running OS 10.6.3 with 4 gigs ram. It's a 2006 Mac Pro. The scene from Daz Studio is just one figure in an outfit. Any other suggestions would be great. I admit that I'm more than a little disappointed. Does it make a difference that I'm running a 32 bit version of Daz Studio?
Sincerely,
David
