Just wanted to let you know that I did add an extra joint in between the hull and the leg and called it pivot. This then rotates the leg into position; and I can now extend the legs along their length at an angle to the body of 36 degrees. Thanks to ockham for this suggestion, it really does work. Now to add those morphforms to get them all extending at the same time!
Cheers everyone who posted
Steve

Thanks ockham and Gareee.
I'm having a go at adding an extra joint between the body and first leg joint, so I'll see how this works

Thread: Merchant Utility error with lt2 file | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The main gripe was that these files work in Poser 5/6 as is, and there were initially created in Poser, so why is there a need to make sure that any errors found by the MU should be set in stone. I would never have found that error, if indeed it can actually be classed as one. Thanks for highlighting this though, I have had a few explanations as to why.

they have relative paths. Poser generated this code first,
objFileGeom 0 0 :Runtime:geometries:Camera:Camera.obj
I tried it with both quotes and without, still comes up with an error in the Merchant Utility. It is an error in MU, as these files have been tested in both P5 and P6 with no problems.
Seems it's getting confuse by the inclusion of the two zeros and the spaces before the frist colon. So as far as I'm concerned the actually lt2 file hasn't anything wrong with it.
Cheers

Thread: Buffer overrun error in Poser 6 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think have found out a possible cure to the problem. I decided to move my files over to my latop and I suddenly got the same problem with that P6, so I thought it must be something in the old Runtime making the Buffer overrun error. Anyway I deleted all my scrap files that I work on and then realised I had created shortcuts from the Geometries folder to both the textures and props library, and back again from these, because I was getting feedup go through all the folders when work on textures and obj's. So perhaps Poser was reading these shortcuts and in effect was bouncing back and forth between these folders. I have deleted these shortcuts on my laptop and the program now opens, only I now get a calling for com.obj, which I presume is a file used in the execution of the program, which I may have deleted in my haste to get rid of anything surplus. I'll do a reinstall now on the main computer and see how that goes.

Thanks for replying.
I did make a link to my main Runtime which is housed on a different drive and is very large. It will be a shame if I cannot access this as it has so much stuff I like to use. I might have to do a complete rebuild if that's the case. I too found this error very frustrating, because you just don't know why it actually happened. At the moment I'm backing up all my files and I'm going to try a new install. All the old files and prefs have been removed. Hopefully that'll do it, fingers crossed. I didn't have too many problems before I actually installed the update, so I may leave that for now.

Thread: MAT pz2 differences between Poser 5 and 6 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the advice about Shader Spider, it's actually available at DAZ. I've got it and it looks like it'll solve all my problems by creating exactly what I need. Ta very much.

Thanks ynsaen. I now realise just how awkward this is now using P6 for what I want. I now have resigned myself into building two versions for my MAT pose files, one for all Poser versions before P6 and a dedicated P6 one. Just when I thought I was almost finished with a product. Ah well another late night is in order. Ta, Steve

Thread: Poser and ZBrush problems | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've just tried the method suggested by Ghostofmacbeth and this works really well. I didn't get any unwanted movement apart from the applied morph that is. Thanks for this I really appreciated it. Now to get back to some more disfigurements!

Thread: Can't call External Geometry in pp2 file???? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi Lisbeth, Thanks for replying to my message. I'm still having problems though. I copied one Prop file that I know works OK exactly but I just changed the parts were I needed to call in the obj file, but when I go to load it in Poser nothing happens, or so it seems. But when I open up the Hierachy Editor it's there, but you can't actually see it on the stage and it's not listed in the Props list. When I double click on it, when the the Heirachy Editor is open, I open up a Properties box, but as soon as I click off the prop it's gone. I'm going to try and create this prop as a figure and call the geometry in the cr2 file and see if the same thing happens. By the way how do you create a pp2 file after importing into Poser so that the obj file is called externally. Whenever I do it directly in Poser the geometry is always included in the pp2. You mentioned obj ripper and PWizard but I've not heard of these. Thanks

Thread: ~~~June Poser Forum Challenge - B Movie Poster - Theme Thread~~~ | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think that the TOS for this competition will apply as much for the Poser Challenge as it does for marketing posters for actual films. So I think there's still a lot scope to produce some good art without being over the top. I also realise that the 'B Movie' is generally a genre that explores horror, violence and sexual subjects, but you never really see a 'B Movie poster' or any other movie poster that would cause too much offence to the viewer. Afterall, I see the aim of the challenge as an exercise to produce a poster, not a scene from the movie. So I'm really looking forward to see them entries.
