sigh .. now, that Cyn has left, why should i be here again? I'm with Moni, having heard of this by a third party as i'm not around this place a lot these days but though dear Cyn and me haven't been of the same opinion every time, i've always admired her commitment to ReRo .. next to her being a very very special person. I'm sad to see you leave as a mod ... but perhaps this is the best decision for you as person and artist .. it's not up to me to decide .. but be assured, that i'll never forget what you've done to me. Thanks and all the best to you my dear! Hope to meet you again one day! Tom

Does this image help in understanding? http://img.zol.com.cn/article/3/117/liWa1FusIuqxk.jpg Weight? Oh yes ... she's no light-weight but in comparison to other cams .. g. But using a monopod seems to always be a fine idea.

Thanks Pascale my dear. I'll copy your words and send them to Canon :-) The use .. ? Hmmm .. shooting horizontically is easy .. but how do you do it vertically? Having your right arm upwards? Not convenient at all and for a longer time - impossible. With that grip, you can still hold the cam in they way u're used to hold her. Even if held horizontical, the cam does fit a lot better into my hands .. without, that small finger of mine keeps slipping from the cam .. i'm sure this is no point of any importance to you! :-) Hope this answers your question?

Hi! You're right, the 10D does not have this problems, the 300D doesn't too (had the 300D with grip before .. no prob at all). It seems to be an issue with all 20Ds / grips from the early series .. dunno if they've fixed it until today. Perhaps they've made some errors with designing that grip .. some people told me it feels a lot cheaper than the one for the 10D (which i haven't had in my hands for now). I've had Cam and Grip sent to Canon. They have adjusted something and it has been better afterwards - but still it happens. They right now also do exchange the older grips free of charge .. but you will know that loss of trust? "It failed me once, when will it fail me again?". Also, you're perfectly right about that focus-points. Experienced users will achieve great results with the 20Ds 9 AF-points but for me .. of course i have to admit a lot of error is on my side but .. sigh

A "long term love story"? Oh, that sounds really serious. But don't worry about dreaming of your cam .. guess we all have our minor problems lol Oooops ... but you don't get me wrong, do you? :-) Why am i selling mine? I don't like cams without this ... how is it called in english? You can turn the cam by 90 and have a second trigger plus some more buttons to conveniently shoot that way? For the 20D there's this battery grip (BG-E2) having this feature. I like the much improved handling a lot - especially with heavy lenses such as the 85 1.2. But right with those, there's a big problem with the power-connection between grip (that contains the batteries) and cam .. sometimes the cam believes that the batteries are empty which they in fact are not. Taking them out and reinserting them helps for a short time .. but that's so annoying. Imagine reinserting your batteries after 3 - 5 shots .. over and over again. To emphasize this: that will NOT happen when shooting in a normal way without moving all to fast or when shooting with "normal" lenses. But having the cam vertically or upside down, pointing from the bottom upwards (what i do a lot when shooting kids) and having the 85 1.2 on it (to avoid having to use flashlights), it happens all the time. Also, while working on a tripod, it's very hard to point the cam to one special point when she moves a little bit after releasing her .. like falling down into the grip. Only a millimeter or two, but enough to make composition difficult. The only option is to remove that grip everytime when a tripod comes into play. Annoying once again, isn't it? There are some more minor points, e.g. with shooting birds in flight when the AF Servo is less than perfect (may also be my fault) and times, when 5 fps just aren't enough. But these are really minor to that annoyance above. So i've decided to get me a 1 D Mark II N. Will have to wait some months ... but i guess she's well worth some waiting. I believe all those critique on the 20D doesn't apply to your kind of photography so i'm very sure, this will be a long term love story. So i'm still happy for ya! Have a great time with that Cam Pascale .. can't wait to see your first serious images done with her! Tom

Do you still need any help or do you already have that files back? If you're using CF cards and did not save any new images to this card, there's no prob at all in getting that files back ... Tom

Oooops. Have you been using a lens-hood? There's a lot of light that should not be there. Of course, after looking at the original work - in sepia it's way better.
I wouldn't try to make the sepia-version darker - more contrast seems to be the better way. I've added a quick postwork for you. Curves (s-shape) and some "tiefen & lichter" (dunno how this is called in the english PS) - it's a new tool in PS CS.
To me, it looks better now - but it has also lost that very old touch your image has. It's up to you what you want to achieve. ;-)
And how to improve the original? Sorry, in light like that, i feel there's no real chance of getting better images. Polarizing filter, ND-filter and underexposure may help, but ... it's really stupid making shows like that in such a light - know this situations very well.
Hope this is of some help for you?
Tom
Ooops .. uploaded the wrong image .. please wait a sec

Thanks for all your feedback :-) @Dee-Marie: if you receive messages complaining about the size, please tell me. No prob to remove the images and give you an additional "small-size-edition". But the main download should remain the big one. Or - if you don't like that idea - a HTML-Version is an option. But as the images deliver the size, HTML will not be smaller.

Hey, if even good ole Tedz is learning a trick, it cannot be all to bad :-). Thanks a lot for your feedback! Dear Cyn: still having problems? I'm using an older version of adobe acrobat .. but i don't have any idea on why this happens. Are you patient enough as this file is quite big? If you still have problems, please send me an email .. i'd be glad to send you another version directly. @LostPatrol: yep, it's to big. But removing the images, it will be a lot less understandable i thought? Do you recommend downsizing it or do you feel it's worth the size? Have a great day Tom

Thank you Moni! I have to admit, that black beauty is far more beautiful in sepia. You've done very well in postworking those images :-)

PS: My fault to post it in a misunderstandable way and with the PS-title should have called it "Problems with Fireworks-Export into Potatoshop". Mea culpa!!
