 What system are you running, I've seen this happen in the past and it was due to the graphics driver crashing.

Do you know your video card make and model?

Then of course the standard "are you running all the latest service packs?".

 I agree with LaurieA as far as Poser 7 is concerned.  I truly understand putting a limit on what is supported, but this is typically a (current version - 1) support issue.  I don't foresee any issues, but it is surprising even to someone in the software development business.

 It's great to hear the positive experiences with 2010, I can't wait until I can get my hands on it.  (I never side-upgraded to 8 so I have to wait...).

I'm sure you could download the trial of 3ds max, and use that to export your model as obj.

 It might help if you are clear at what you are trying to do.

Certainly you can host poser figures in 3ds max with plugins, but it sounds like you are asking if you can use models created in 3ds max within the Poser application.

Please confirm what you are looking to accomplish.

 I agree I like the Alice look.

 I'll check to see if one of the mods can make this a sticky.
