I just trry it Wow Is it a user manual for understand all this parameters and modules?
Thanks
There are plenty of tutorials on youtube for MB3D - also fractalforums has a lot of very talented and helpful people if you have any questions. Feel free to ask there, or if I can help I'll try to answer any questions here - but just learning the basics is too much to answer in a single short post. The tutorials available online cover many aspects and I am sure there are some "getting started" ones out there if you search.
Good luck and feel free to ask any specific questions you may have either here or over at ff.

Thread: Why I Think Genesis 3 In Carrara Will Never Ever Happen... | Forum: Carrara
I fail to see what any of this has to do with The Millennium Cow.
We all know that the only thing holding back Carrara 9 from release is the ongoing effort to get this all important figure ready.
I know many of the World's Governments have attempted to intervene after hearing of The Millennium Cow's GUARANTEE to bring about World Peace, and the Medical Community is lobbying to get The Millennium Cow to do more than merely usher in a cure for cancer and want it to cure ALL known diseases.
There is so much more involved than mere Genocide compatibility that focusing on that (or anything related to any human oriented content) is short-sighted at best, and a waste of time at worst.
Forget Genocide 3 compatibility and focus on the really important stuff!!
Cows.

Great news: The 'auto-detect runtimes' not working in Carrara 8.5 is now reported on Daz web site See Link.. I have reported this problem in my post above.
For heavens sake this is the first function that you use after you install Carrara. The second function you use is to build a scene in 3D view. All you have to do is to load a scene in 8.5.1.19 to see how noticeably slower it is when compared to 8.1.1.12.
Carrara 8.5.1.19 has not been tested for even 15 minutes before being shipped. This is what happens when you put interns in charge of software development.
Note that my gripe is not with the intern-in-charge. I am enraged at Daz management who uses under-qualified under-paid interns to develop Carrara, and then charges us the eyes of the head for a buggy worthless 'release' only good for the trash can.
Way to go Daz, way to go!
No.
They got the most important thing about the update right! C 8.5X can load 3DUniverse's Toon Cow!!!
Compared to that, auto detecting runtimes is meaningless.
This is a key step forward in the Relentless March To The Release Of The Millennium Cow!!!
No version of C8.1X could load this critically important Cow. And since this was the main reason for making C8.5, calling it worthless is missing the point.
Any feature broken by this Cow stampeding through the source code is irrelevant. No mere intern is capable of coding support for Cows. The Cows would not tolerate it.
Perhaps the problem is that you have to buy the Toon Cow separately? That was my biggest complaint.
If you're going to name a program Cowrarra, it should come with more Cow Content right out of the box.

... (stealing has way to much negativity attached to it) ...
How about Pilfering then? Looting?
Technically, I stole it to post it in this thread, so it's all in perspective I guess. I think in worst case scenarios most of the time. At least if you're a pessimist you're never disappointed!
Thanks for answering those others too.
Now to hope my Cthulhu figure counts as a prop since my only other item from the marketplace is a texture set and the page says to use a prop...

I do try to get all the members the best information possible and answer their concerns with in a timely matter. I know over the recent months there has been way to much negative being made about the staff here and in reality we all do our very best for the community at large
I know I have said some things myself, but have seen a lot worse from others. My only complaints have centered on the moderation techniques, not the moderators themselves. Questions have always been handled fine, but sometimes I do question other aspects of how the place is run - it got so bad I banned myself from the community whats-her-name section because whenever I tried to make a point a bunch of others jumped in and piled on their own complaints and it is just not fun.
And if a member feels that way, I can only imagine how it makes staff feel.
Would it be odd to point out that this contest is not listed in the Contests Section of the forum, nor is it listed in the General Contests Area of the site?
That doesn't bother me because it means fewer people will know about it and there will be less competition and I may have a chance at that Crazy Talk 8 prize! I doubt I'd be good enough for the top prize, but actually like Crazy Talk better, so I mentioned it instead.
Just one last question about the contest and I'll shut up:
Is it OK to steal, for use in this contest only, this image (maybe modifying it's color, but nothing else):
And if so, that may be a good thing to add to the description! It's tough to advertise for a company if you can't use their logo.
Edit: Or maybe this image, which may be more appropriate?

And it looks like the description has been modified.
No Beer or Necropedopestopastophobia clinic ads :( It seems like an ad for the mag itself is what they want.
Shame.
That clinic could have used the exposure...
Thanks for anything you did to help get the description enhanced.

Ridiculously vague descriptions both here and from following the link! The ONLY guidelines are "G-Rated" and "use a marketplace item" - no suggested dimensions or format, no subject matter, no limit on number of entries, or anything else? Well, at least it posted a deadline.
So...
Just advertise absolutely anything at all - so long as it's G Rated. Based on the description, an animated gif file could be used to advertise the DAZ Marketplace since that's G Rated and there is no reason to believe it violates any rules (since none are posted beyond the 2 mentioned and no links will be present).
A little more information is needed here.
No.
Scratch that.
A LOT more information is needed here!
I'm not even sure if the ad is to go inside the magazine. or to be an ad for the magazine itself!
Sheesh! I'll make an ad for Mandelbulb3D in animated gif format as my first entry. Digital magazines can do animated ads, and many do - so there is no reason to doubt that it's allowed. Then I can move on to ads for my website, my web design services, Lindeman's Cassis Lambic (my favorite beer) (Beer is G Rated to advertise, right?), and the Necropedopestopastophobia Clinic (Necropedopestopastophobia is an irrational fear of dead children smothered in pasta with a pesto sauce) (my 2nd favorite imaginary disease!) unless more detailed guidelines appear.
I'm reminded of my last web client who wanted a website for his bible study group, but didn't have ANY content for it!! No articles, lectures, or videos. They actually expected me to make their content (so I made a scathing parody tearing god a new sphincter and poking fun at, or blatantly ridiculing, everything they believe in - and offered it to them) (They said they'd get me some content). Hopefully I wont have to submit those ads in order to get a clearer idea of what this all about...

OK, I'll do that in Carrara too. I can imagine your image with a cow also... Thanks for the tip. Cheers !
Yeah, with Fractals I usually annoy the crowd by mapping the woman I love into orbit traps, or use her as a light map, or something. The cows fixation is usually used with the Cowrarra crowd and other 3D stuff.
But Cows and Fractals do mix quite well!
But when I try mixing Lissa with 3D the results vary widely...

He, funny program ! I only played with a few parameters and created a mesh, that work great. It's very new for me, is it a way to load a texture and create an .mtl file for an obj. ? Thanks !
The exported obj files are not UV Mapped, so no texturing can happen until that is done in your UV Mapper of choice (I usually do a quick and dirty "Box" projection right in Carrara, where I render them).
In MB3D you can use an image map in the lighting panel, but that only works withing the program and does not export. However, great fun can be had just using images as light maps!

Hi Sockratease ! As you maybe know, I'm a Carrara user but your program interest me. I downloaded from "somewhere" (don't remember) in the internet a version 2... There is no option to export the meshes, only JPG or PNG, what's the process to do that ? Thanks .
Hi DUDU!
Yup, I know you from other Forums where you may know me as a Carrara user too. I'm the Crazy Hippy constantly pestering them to make The Millennium Cow model.
Let's see, if you have a "Version 2" it may be Mandelbulber, and not Mandelbulb 3D. There are literally hundreds of fractal generators out there, but only a handful that export obj files.
Mandelbulber does not have this feature, but Mandelbulb 3D just added it. Until this we had to export a "voxel stack" (image sequence of slices of the fractal) and compile it into a 3D Model using other software.
Assuming you have the correct program, the feature is started with the "BTrace" button and works exactly as described in the first post of this thread.
MB3D is only available at Fractal Forums (link in first post) and if your "somewhere" was "elsewhere" then it's likely that you have different software. Here's a screenshot to show what it looks like:
The BTracer button is in the upper left of the main window.
Hope that helps!

'Johnny has no future Mr. Angel. He's dead!' (Charlotte Rampling and Mickey Rourke in Angel Heart)
Same thing with Carrara. See this link
If Carrara is dead then I'm a lot more perverted than I thought!
I knew I was kinky, but had no idea I was a necrophiliac!!
And it looks like we've sure got a lot of other necrophiles around here too...
To paraphrase a popular internet saying - "Dead. You keep using that word, but I don't think it means what you think it means!"

Carrara still has a future. It's development may be absurdly slow, but comparing it to pro software is unfair. Look at the price for the same license! Free student versions and introductory but limited versions only go so far before you need to buy the full license. So as an affordable intermediate program between things like Houdini and things like Poser / DAZ Studio, it's actually quite Sexy.
And with my 10 Plus years working in the Naughty Adult Website market I feel I am more than qualified to express an opinion about the Sexiness of a piece of software (not to mention "hard"ware) - and I gotta say that by focusing on Genocide, Carrara is losing some sexiness.
NOT because it wants compatibility with the latest content technology from DAZ, which makes perfect business sense, but because the effort would be better spent on other aspects of the program. It must be daunting to code both for importing the new figures and fixing bugs and adding a new bell or whistle all at once. Dropping off the latest figures would lighten the workload a bit and make more time for the other stuff.
I'd just declare to those clamoring for G3 compatibility that it will always be a generation behind in terms of the latest shiny new figure line (with hopefully better functionality of those figures), but it's other features will be ... Sexier?

Help. I want to upload an image but how? I see a picture button below but nothing happens when I click on it. Also there is a select image link but the same result. Nothing.
I'll give it a quick test with a cow picture run through a fractal generator, to see if it works from here (not an entry - it's not from Bryce, nor does it have a lake!) (but the only way to confirm vangogh's problem)
Looks to be working from here. I just clicked the picture icon and an upload dialogue opened.
Could you be running a script blocker?
Maybe an outdated browser?
Have you tried from another browser or another computer?
Those are the first checks to run. If those fail, ummm... Moo?
