Thanks! I have a friend online that's obsessed with cowbell, I'm going to fire up Poser and make him a cowbell animation with.. of course! .. a COWBELL ONLY soundtrack!
If I actually finish it, I'll post a link here. Heh.
Thread: How did you start buying content? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - > Quote - At first, it was Daz Studio - I had worked with a lot of 3D artists during my stint as a game developer, but couldn't afford Lightwave. DS was fun, and look, Vicky! Mike! Props!
Well, Vicky and Mike complained endlessly about being naked, in a temple even (Vicky hung on to the sword, she was worried what Mike might try). So I had to get clothes, and of course move them out of the temple into a more soothing setting.
Eventually I moved to Poser Pro 2010 and started dabbling in Web comics, so I needed more specialized content, then tried my hand at illustrating my stories and poetry, which meant I needed MORE content, then I got into horror and steampunk...
So here I sit with Poser Pro 2012, Vue 11, and a total of 8 runtimes containing close to 90GB of content!!! And it's still just a hobby!

Thread: Library Managers ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ok, my largest runtime is my Renderosity one (heh), it's 56.8GB (!!) with 165,300 files (!!).
Metadata scanning and building for the library manager is pretty slow, but given the huge amount of stuff I have, it's not too surprising.
I have 8 different runtimes now, though. Hmmph.
Thread: Library Managers ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I have Library Manager 2.6 running now. It still shows a limit of 900 data bindings.
Yeah - I forgot to post (red face). Maybe someone shoud contact Shaderworks about allowing that to be increased?
Thread: Library Managers ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Glad to help where I can! :-)
Quote -Hey WoolyLoach,
I was thinking about that one, I know wht you mean my external runtime is at almost 70GB, like I said, spending too much time looking, not creating. Thanks for the advice.

Thread: Library Managers ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Once I get home tonight, I'll look and see if V2.6 has a higher data binding limit - I think my largest single runtime is about 12-14GB.. I'll look into it this eve and post what I discover.
Thread: Library Managers ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I use Shaderworks Library Manager 2.6 with my Poser Pro 2012, it has some nice featues that make my life easier.. it takes a while to build the database, but you rarely have to rebuild the entire thing.
The native library manager in PPro 2012 is pretty decent on its own, though, once you figure out how to make the best of it.
Ihave well over 30GB of Poser content (!!), so a manager is a necessity.. plus it has some neat features for loading only part of a pose (for example). I do have seven runtimes, so I'm not sure if there's a file-count limit.
It's sure not necessary, but it's nice.
Thread: Anime Pro 9 and Poser ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - > Quote - Yes, I have Anime Studio Pro 8, and no I am not impressed at all at the Poser integration, unless they have made it much better in later verisons.
Import is slow, posing and integrated features are not what I expected...it was a disappointment for me.
Hint: the word "poser" is not even on that page you linked.
That being said, Anime Studio itself is VERY good at what it does, not considering Poser. I was just thinking of using it as part of a pipeline for making characters in poser, then using them there for animation. Didn't work out for me...
Maybe better to ask at Lost Marble forums
thank you it was under tutorials sorry http://anime.smithmicro.com/tutorials/as9/pro/poser-3d-import.html

Quote - Here it is applied to a poser spiral prop, surrounding a cylinder.
Tht is sweet - I can find a million uses for this! Thanks a TON!!!

Glad I saw this thread - I jus bought the fancy coffin and would have frustrated myself to death! I'll fix the CR2s tonight.
Thread: DS 4.6 Pro Is Slower Than Previous Versions | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Transmaps kill DS performance in my experience, and even though DS 4.6 is faster for me, a thick lush hair and 3Delight just grinds down to a snails pace.
I bame the render engine, no idea why 3Delight is so slow with transmaps. Ugh.
Thread: CHECK THIS OUT !!!!!!!!!!!!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There goes $200. Le sigh.
Worth it for the renderer improvements and Bullet physics alone.
SM knocked this one out of the park!
Thread: Best Laptops for Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I run Poser on my Lenovo i5 system and just the HD3000 graphics - it works "acceptably" with the following caveats:
The 15.6 inch screen makes reading menus etc. difficult
I have a three-fan laptop coooer under it, otherwise like has been said the sucker will try to heat the room
It's maxed out at 8GB, I recommend something more expandable
Use an external mouse, otherwise yu're going to live in the penthouse of Hotel
Frustration (trackpads and 3D are a bad combination)
Best of luck!
