sigh In a way, I am glad I would have to buy a new machine to use P5. It makes it eaier to not want it! I want XP, I want P5. But, I want to know whats mine is mine. So, no XP, no P5. Somewhere along the line, the idea of ownership got skewed. Let me clarify; if I buy somthing its MINE. To use, resell, abuse, burn, ignore, reload or whatever. Any other notion of ownership is absurd. P5's system amounts to a limited lease on the software. I will gladly register my software, I will not rent software. I will not let anyone use my resourses, or tell me how or when I can do anything with my belongings. Adobe has dozens of programs out, makes tons of money, and seems to be quite happy with a reg number. They must lose millions to thieves. They spend their money on software, not security. Good plan. CL released a beta (by the looks of the bug reports) at a price that would make Adobe blush. And then tells me what I am going to do with what is mine? BAH! They spent money on USELESS security (the warez monkeys broke XP before it was offically released, for god's sake!!) and forgot the software. Opps. smiles I will keep plugging away in P4, and be happy I don't have to wonder who is watching me do everything.

Absolutely! I am more than 1/2 glad I can't update to Poser5, it makes my decision to stay away from such corporate rape much easier to handle :). Sadly, its the wave of the future though. Privacy is an idea past it's time. None of these issues can ever protect software, and the programmers know this. It's all about control of the user. Poser users aren't buying Poser 5, regardless of what they might think before they part with a few hundred bucks. They get a VERY limited lease, and worse, it's on CL's good graces from square one. Wait till a new reg costs 20 bucks and lasts 30 days. Bill Gates TOLD the world about this two years ago, and ever since then has continued to push his agenda forward. CL has gladly jumped on board, and why not? It's steady income and doesn't require the company to EVER update or renew. The same POS will be served out forever. The issues are beyond me, though. I can't act alone, except to protect my home system as best I can, and join the growing underground movement of security minded folks. The vast majority don't know or understand what is happening, even though its been fully reported in every venue imaginable. The bottom line is that until a community acts as a group this wave is going to wash everything away. Privacy matters to me, not because I have anything to hide, but because I should have to PROVE that. No XP, no Poser5, no program EVER that spies on me, or isn't completely mine. When I buy somthing it's mine to do with as I please (including reselling, throwing away or burning). Too bad so many ppl are so willing to toss away their privacy and consumer rights just to have the latest version. I still, gladly, haven't figured out how to use the full power of P4, so it will be many years before I can even begin to think of myself as needing more. Hopefully, by then some new program will be available that caters to the growing number of end users who cherish ownership and privacy.

Just my two cents. If Pro Pack doesn't do it, the Developer should. If its a simple enough edit then the developer can do the moving/changing of the files. I agree that obj files should not be cluttering up my character and/or prop menu. Mine are very organised for a reason. I want them that way. When I move something and it doesn't work, I delete it, consider the developer incompetent and never buy anything from them again. Bottom line; if I'm selling something it has to work. Characters and Props get moved and obj files have to be where they are not going to get moved, and the files in the props have to point to the right folders. Don't blame Poser Pro cuz you can't finish the workflow. Part of the project has to be getting the obj files in the right folders (geometries). I don't blame Poser cuyz I have to do post-production in Photoshop, its part of the workflow. Likewise, a bit of post-production in developing is the seller's job, not the buyer.

Thanks Clint, I got the file. I just wanna say that Renderosity is a great site, and the stuff in the store is killer, but I think that I am going to avoid using the store until I hear that some improvements have been made, looking at the post board it seems I am not the only one experiencing difficulty. Good luck, thanks again.

To JWB I installed the 5.01 update and everything seems complete and works fine.Sounds like yer puter burped. God, I hate when that happens. S.

Subjective analysis: The patch GREATLY improves performance of the wizards, but render times don't seem much improved (but I am using a tiny processor so it may not show no matter what they did to it, S). Also I couldn't swear to it but it looks like some new skies and stuff in there also...

Groovy. How did you find this? I saw NOTHING on the Corel site about it, but Cute picked the FTP off my clipboard just fine. I am not sure this is official yet LOL.
Thread: Opinions on Bryce5 | Forum: Bryce
I like Byrce 5. Corel seems to have improved on MetaCreations Bryce 4 I never used Bryce 3 so I dunno about this upgrade vs new version stuff, but I do remember bitterly the Photoshop 5.5 to 6 new version, so it would seem most programs will be largely the same in new versions. I might be wrong, but it sure does seem to render faster (and render time is always the base line for me). I also noticed there is much less post-production work neccesary. IMHO, the new interface is hard on the eyes compared to MC's Bryce. I think the grey/blue/chrome look makes everything fade to grey after a while. I tried it for a week and got the full version. The trial renders very slow.
