I've found 3DS files don't work as good as .obj files. There are some free converters out there so you don't need to purchase MAX to use the 3DS format. the .max file format is proprietary and pretty much only MAX can use this format, which is why you see so many files exported in 3DS format and not .max format... Look in the 3D Studio MAX forum here, there's a whole section for using Poser with MAX and tools to use the programs together. Maybe you will find better answers in the poser/max faq section.

I've been using Poser for collision reconstructions for years. Haven't had any trouble with court. -Even on death penalty cases. I think it all depends on your presentation, and how well your court testimony skills are tuned.

Well, if you're going to do the old, out dated chalk lines, don't forget to pencil-in your initials on one of the victim's eyewhites (if you leave them open). That's an fast, in-the-street old time cop trick to see if the person's really dead. The tears of a living human will immediately wash away a pencil mark. AND it has to be a pencil, - pens don't do the trick. Sorry if I'm a little morbid, but hey! Halloween's coming!

.png files are great! They stay small and work very well. I agree Twisted, it's a good format. But Premiere does not support that file type.

Twisted Symmetry is correct- add the audio track to your image sequence in Premiere with a post audio dub. :)

1. Black areas around character- Use .tiff image sequences when you render out your animations from Poser. For some reason, Poser messes up the alpha channels in the .psd or other image formats. I always get a good alpha channel with .tiff. In Premiere, when you're setting the Transparency Options for the image sequence, choose "Alpha Channel" and it should composite just fine... 2. Aspect Ratio- There's two ways to mess up image aspect ratio's in Premiere. It looks like you have correctly turned on "maintain aspect ratio" for your imported images. This can be turned on or off from the CLIP>VIDEO OPTIONS>MAINTAIN ASPECT RATIO menu. The monitor window displays the Pixel Aspect Ratio of your current project settings. If you're going to final output to movies you will play on your computer, you want Square Pixels. If you are going to watch your movies on a TV monitor, you need to choose the appropirate Pixel Aspect Ratio for the type of TV you'll be watching (PAL or NTSC). NTSC TV's use rectangular pixels (aspect ratio 0.9) and will appear stretched, or wider when viewed on a computer monitor. If you want, set your Pixel Aspect Ratio to Square Pixels (1.0) while you're editing, but don't forget to switch it back to the appropriate aspect ratio for your final output. Hope this helps

I wonder if it doesn't like V 4.2 - I ran the PP with MAX 3.1 with no problems. PP flat out won't work with 5.1, but I upgraded from MAX 3.1 straight to 5.1 and never dealt with 4.2...
