Hi guys,
Just a quick follow-up.
I recently came across Binary Morph Converter
http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=45173
It sounds to me like using it to create pmd files for V3 would be useful when having several V3 figures. Have anybody tried it?
Thanks!

Hi Adavyss,
Thanks for all your useful explanations. I'm still a newbie, so I really appreciate it.!
So is the point that if I spawn a morph from inside Poser it becomes part of the cr2, but if I use SVDL's script or PLH or MM, I can create an external morph that I can inject? I hadn't thought about that.
I use V3, Aiko and Miki, so I appreciate your general answer.
What is the relationship between PLH and MM? Are they somewhat similar?
I'm not sure if I understand what you meant about using Morph Manager 4 to create a morphless figure. Is that to remove any built-in morphs and just use one injection file to load into a morphless figure?
Thanks!

Hi,
Problem solved! All I had to do was to edit the cr2 file and replace parent rhand:1 with smartparent rhand:1.
It seems it's only when you save a prop that you're asked if you want to save as a smartprop.

Hi,
I still haven't figured out how I can make the figure "find" her hand the way smart props do, but here is a something that I think will at least load the gun into the default position. I haven't tried this out yet, though.
I then believe that in the future the gun would load into her hand so that I can parent it.

Hi guys,
Infinity10, now I understand the lock hand thing. It preserves the hand pose. I just reapply the hand pose all the time. Thanks for explaining that.
I think the problem has to do with prop vs figure. I think I understand how to pose and save my prop guns OK. The "read me" for the gun figure says to parent the "body" part to the hand. That works within the scene, in that the gun moves with the arm. But if I try to load the saved gun, it appears at the position where it was when I saved it, and now where the hand is now.
I suppose I can zero the figure and reparent it, but I would like to get the same behaviour as with smart props.

Thanks, infinity10!
I figured out that I should zero her before I fit the gun, but my problem is how to save the gun so that it goes into her current (not zeroed) position next time I load it.
Are you saying that I should lock the hand before I save the gun into my figures folder? Or should I lock the gun? What's the difference between locking and parenting in this context?
I tried locking the hand before saving, but the gun still loads into the position where it was when I saved it, instead on where the hand is now.
Thanks!

Hi everybody,
Thanks for all the useful comments!
Momodot, what do you mean by "I replace it with the full character with the single checkmark"? Do you mean that you edit the pz3 file and change the filename to the customized obj file?
Adavyss, I understand that I can load say all the V3 head and body morphs, use the MOR for a character, spawn a single morph using Poser, and in the future just inject that one morph using a simple readscript command. Is the point of the blank pose file, Morph Manager and Poser's Little Helper to also remove the built-in Morphs and get a small, one-morph figure?
Thanks!

Hi everybody,
Jules53757, Thanks for teaching me the trick about copying dial values. I didn't know that.
dlfurman, I had a vague recollection that some of those utilities could do that. Any recomendations for which ones are easiest to use for a newbie?
Angelouscuitry, I had briefly looked at that thread, but I didn't realize it could do that also. Sounds like quite a tool.
Thanks!

Are there any good Cyclorama urban backdrops? I want to do urban scenes, and I was attracted to the Mega City Backdrop Pack
Thanks!

Hi beryld, ashley9803 and ju8nkm9l,
Thanks!
Ju8nkm9l, "Elf on guard" was spectacular!
Ashley9803, iIs it easy to use your own pictures with Multiplane Cyclorama, or is it best to use the ready made stuff? I found some in the free stuff section on Renderocity. Any other good sources?
Beryld, which modeling app has the lowest learning curve?
Thanks!

Any thoughts on how Nerd's Backrop, 3DCritter's Amphi and RDNA's IC compare in terms of ease of use?
Thanks!

Hi Pleonastic,
Thanks! Yes, that was my impression. I'll take a closer look at Nerd's and Infinity Cove and forget about the DAZ ones for now.
