I spent a lot of money on getting content for V4 and although I do also do some stuff with V6 I don`t like her as a figure as much and shes not as easy to work with. Also problem I find with the new genesis models is they seem to just update them so often with little change to the look and then no new stuff gets released for any of the older ones, its just re-released stuff which you have to buy again for your new figure, as well as all the expense of buying the new latest base figures again.
Thread: Why is there so much support for Genesis and very little for Poser now? | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
I am sad to see the decline of poser support in recent times, I have over the years invested a lot of time and money into poser and despite several goes at using daz , I continue to like poser far more, it is much easier to use and in my opinion give much better end results. I can understand from the vendors view that G3 is the new market, and I see lots of stuff coming out for it, but a lot of that stuff is just re done from older v4 items and where as I used to have to add wish list items when I looked on the marketplace because there was just to much stuff I wanted, now I maybe see 1 or 2 items I am interested in, and often then see there daz only.
My spend on vender purchases has dropped from around $400 a month to around $10 now, I am sure there are many other poser users that are in the same place as me, and are not excited by the G3 figures or by daz studio, and have just stopped buying and like me use what they have already. I will continue to buy good poser content when it comes out and still support my favourite poser, v4 vendors when the release content
Thread: All that crap.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Im a buyer and have previously been a big spender here, but I have to agree now when I look most of the new items are aimed at either V7,G3 and less and less vendors releasing quality stuff for V4. I
m only interested in using Poser, Ive tried Daz and can
t get the same quality renders and im not going to pay out hundreds of dollars on a third party render engine when for me its just a Hobby, so i
ll stay with Poser and buy mostly for V4, wherever I can get it.
I prefer working with V4, ive had to work more with G2 via DSON but its not as nice setting up a render with G2 in Poser and the end results of a better image are rarely worth the time and extra pain in struggling with G2 over V4, I only use G2 when I want to use an outfit I can
t get on V4.
When I used to come on , I used to see so many things that I wanted that I had to use the wishlist as I was always going way over my monthly spending cap, now i`m lucky if I see enough to take me to even a 10th of that.
What do I want to see from vendors, I want quality creative new skins for V4, (theres a few vendors still doing these but less and less), I also want scenes, not just in fantasy settings but real world and sci-fi too. And I want clothing for V4, give me those things in quality and i`ll happily spend money on them.
Thread: Time to leave V4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I will keep using V4 and poser, I played around with Genesis 2 in poser but to be honest I still think V4 with some fixes looks as good as if not better than G2 and all daz keep doing is launch new g models and then make you get the same stuff again , I honestly don't see any difference between G2 and G3, my spend on new content from vendors has gone down from around £200 a month to maybe £20 ATM as most vendors jumped on the G3 camp while its new.
Hopefully many will return to supporting V4 again in the future and tap into the people out there like me that have money to spend but only on content for the figures I like not the ones Daz want to push as the next must have.
Thread: Why are you still using V4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I still use V4 because I still get the results I want with her and I still think she looks good , plus I've invested a lot of money in buying stuff to use on her and I'm not going to stop using her any time soon.
I've used G2 but I don't think she is easy to work with in poser and slows my system down, plus when an outfit doesn't fit her quite right the morphs to fix poke through are generally less, I also don't think in many cases she looks as good as results I can get using V4
I've played around with Daz when G3 came out but I really can't get used to daz and its a huge money sump to transfer over to it and get to a point where I can make renders close to what I can do in poser, also I don't see much difference in look between G2 and G3 so although it means less is now coming for V4 I will make do with what there is and stick with buying from vendors that support her
Thread: Victoria 7 | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I still prefer V4 over G2F, V4 looks great with some tweaking morphs to correct some issue with her, the only thing that makes me sad is less new stuff come out for her now.
Daz tends to love upgrading figures all the time to make you buy yet more stuff , G2F has been out hardly anytime and it annoys me how they constantly brought out new figure bases for GSF , a few support outfits and then no more content for those figure bases again, just the next figure base, seems they are now following the pattern with first vicky 5, then vicky 6 and no more support for vicky 5, and now vicky 7 and no more vicky 6 support no doubt, im glad in a way i
m using poser as i wont be tempted to spend more on constantly updating Genesis versions with previous versions forgotten, think i
ll just stick with V4 from now as I much prefer working with her anyway and think she looks better.
Thread: Poser software and question about artwork | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I really have no drawing skill at all so you dont need that to use Poser/Daz, I had the same concerns before taking the plunge, In the end I had a very quick look at Daz 3 Free but didn
t much like it, but it was enough to tell me I could make what I wanted without having to be able to draw, so I then took the plunge and invested in Poser Pro.
The learning curve is steep, It took me probably a couple of weeks before I got anything close to what I wanted out of it, but after understanding the basics it gets easier and theres normally helpful information to be found online if you get stuck on something.

Thread: Are die-hard Poser users going to switch to Daz Studio for VIvky 5? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ive only been a poser user since early last year when I took the plunge and got Pro 2010, which I
m still learning. I don`t have any plans to switch to Daz ,
because I don`t want to have to start learning another package + as far as I can see Poser is the more powerful of the two.
ive invested to much money in Poser to switch to Daz. I
m also quite happy using V4, Im not an advanced user and I don
t have huge experience so i`m not sure I would gain any huge benefits from using V5 anyway.
if there came a time when no new content for V4 came out anywhere then of course I might have to look at changing but I don`t see that happening for some time, Of course at the moment on Daz theres lots of stuff being released for V5/Genesis as thats new and therefore needs content if anyone is going to make use of her.

part of the hook from MMO`s is you meet people online also playing them and to a degree thats what keeps you going back, if these games were solo player they just would not hold most people for anywhere near as long, If Wow for example was a solo game It would have probably held my interest a few weeks.
Although for me MMO`s have always been a platform to go roleplay with others, rather than play the games to get the epic gear etc which was much more of an also do to me.

ive been a World of Warcraft player for 6 years, i
ve been playing far less this year, maybe 3 or 4 hours max a month compared to probably 20 hours a week before that. I cant say i
m missing it overly much, the time im not spending on WOW i
ve been spending being creative with Poser which I decided to finally invest in end of last year.
Many of the scenes I make in Poser are inspired by my WOW characters and from playing that game.
Generally a game addiction is normally solved by just finding some other activity to occupy the time you were spending on the game.
Thread: Alienware computer for rendering | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I had an Alienware computer and wasn`t that impressed with it, it cost more and as others have said your paying for the name. Also I might have just been unlucky but my alienware machines motherboard blew after just over 2 and bit years of having it.
I would personally not bother buying and Alienware again, but would spend the extra money you pay for the name in upgrading specs, and if its shiney lights you want theres plenty of very nice lit cases around these days, my current two pc`s look every bit as pretty as my Alienware pc did.
Thread: Poser, Nudity and Comments | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I post a selection of pictures, some with nudity in and some without, certainly adding the (contains nudity) tag means the picture gets far more clicks than one that has no content tag.
Before I started making my own pictures I visted and looked at the galleries on here for a number of years and although certainly I enjoy looking at a nice artistic nude, I also enjoy looking at a well done picture.
but the bottom line is sex sells and more skin shown means more people will view it, advertising companies have been using this tactic for years because they know it works.
