for those who customize their homepages and profiles, there is a section where you can fill out your "genre" to categorize your artist page. Perhaps you could add the same thing to the gallery so that when an artist uploads an image, he/she can check off which categories it belongs to exactly like on the artist page, and the image will be show on those categories in the gallery only.

since DAZ now has mimic and are already working on version 3 of a certain millenium figure, it can only be assumed that said millenium figure will already have full support for mimic added into the new features when it is done, assuming they plan to support their new product. texture maps apply to the models they are made for, since the p5 characters have different geometries it would be ALMOST inpossible for them to be 100% compatible, even if they were mapped to be very similar there would be some differences. Hopefully, they would be similar enough , however, that you would be able to copy and paste your old textures onto a new template. The textures you have purchased WILL still work on the character they were created for, but very likely not on the new characters unless you do quite a bit of editing.

3ds is a model format and does not include animation, that is the max sene file (.max). In order to export a completed animation you need to use the poser to max plugin, otherwise, you need to build the scene frame by frame using your 3ds model (what us non pro pack users have always had to do) Basically, you need to transition from one model to another in your keyframes on the animation timeline, placing each model in its new postion as it changes its range of motion.

well, there is also lithunwrap, you can try that, or post this on the texturing forums, there are a few of us there that would be willin to give it a shot. Id offer now, but you would have to wait a little while to get the map back, but if you have the patience I could give it a whirl. Also, you could try the RDNA total uv forums, they probably have some stuff floating around thazt will help you.

i would open it in max or some other modelling software, and unwrap the die so that all the faces can be seen on a single plane, planar map it so that there isnt any distortion, and then morph it back into its original shape while maintaining the same uv coords and export it back out as obj. Alternatly, if you have uvmapper pro, you could just select each face individually and apply a planar map to each individual side, then just line them up on your template.

set the transparency to 100% min and max without a map, or create a 100 x 100 image with a solid black color and use that for your transparency map with 100% min and max transparency settings.

only thing i saw is that you cant return or order the bryce 3d book anymore because they are publishing his bryce 5 book now. Thats hardly good news.

i was saying forget shilby's idea of doing it all together and make something of our own, not that i was agreeing with him. I definatly think he was way out of the ballpark and said as much. I just thought for a moment that maybe the idea as a whole could be turned into something with merit if brought to being under different circumstances, and not related to his request in any case. A simple no thank you is quite sufficient in that regard. As for his request, i already stated my opinion on that idea in the first post i made.

my favorite was a comment someone made on one of his books at a review site. It was the only good review he got, with the comment posted - excellent for campfires.
