Careful! I've got a water balloon here with your name on it.
(sploosh)
Rats. I hate it when that happens.

I don't know if there are any mice, but something makes a fair amount of noise late at night -daveh

Ah. I didn't understand the question. In the header for the Photography Forum, there's a link the renderosity's contest page (http://www.renderosity.com/contest.ez). They're listed there (Zone I (http://www.renderosity.com/contest.ez?contest_id=117), Zone II (http://www.renderosity.com/contest.ez?contest_id=118))

There's a 'Vote For This Entry' link on the individual image pages, under the image. -daveh

Lovely! I'd rather be there than heading in for another 12hr day. (no you can't keep the actors for another 15 minutes, unless you want to pay overtime.) -daveh

Dell Inspiron 8100, 1 Ghz PIII, 512 MB ram, 40 GB disk. I wouldn't recommend a laptop unless you need something you can take with you. There's a significant price penalty. In my case, it functions as my office away from home for my theater related paperwork. Applicationwise: Office, Photoshop LE, and as the wheel of interests turns, PovRay, trueSpace, Cakewalk, Acid -daveh
Thread: what do you people think? | Forum: Photography
If I recall correctly, they're interpolating to get the extra pixels. I can't remember where I read that, but I think it was at http://www.dpreview.com. I don't recall if any comparison was made between letting the camera do it, and doing it in something like photoshop. -daveh

Would a series image conveying motion fit in with the intention of the topic? Something ala jhazards 'Outtake for the Bloodthirsty'? -daveh

Beautiful. Of the two, I think I prefer the warmer feel of the one in the gallery. -daveh
Thread: to crop....or not to crop.... | Forum: Photography
I'm going to go with the crowd on this one. I like the original crop. There's something about the way the numbers seem to be floating in the sky that makes me look twice. -daveh

Hey everybody, thanks for your comments. WRT the first image, it was a somewhat unconcious choice to not provide any indication of scale. I didn't really think of it at the time, but both the original shot and the crop were set up to eliminate anything except for the side of the building. mysnapz: thanks for the suggestion and example on #3. This is exactly what I needed. I'd gotten stuck in trying to use most of the image, instead of breaking it down into pieces that work. And for some reason, it never occurred to me to change the orientation. -daveh
