i think there's a Talking Heads record cover that uses a similar technique, but achieves quite a different effect...

A.1 multichannel should be used only w cmyk if outputting seps. Start with a blank CMYK canvas and pile your PMS channels on top of that

A.2 NO, save as cmyk eps, dcs 2.0

also, make sure to maintain consistency in your naming and using of color. Dont use Pantone Black in PS, then normal Black in Freeh. It sounds like you're using PS 5... is that the case or are you in 6? Not sure if multichannel works the way you want it to in PS5, but i could be wrong. Retrocity?

LOL, finally i get called on my secret! 8) Makes me so happy that its Doruksal who discovered... Cant remember when it was, but it certainly took me a while to realize that i could make kinda simple pictures look pretty nifty through a bit of 'processing'. I still think there's something to say for my capturing abilities tho...

Personally i feel the original is quite strong, but maybe just in need of a little 'developing'. So, one little Lab curve, a wave of the wand and presto! Photoshop is both darkroom and canvas and of course a blending of the two. These days i find myself more into the development process, going for purity and emotion... but have definitely put in some years with filtering. I guess it all depends on what you are presenting your work as. Are you attempting to portray reality as seen by your eyes or are you interested in painting another picture entirely? For me the first post detracts from the beauty of the original, that being a really lovely digital capture still in need of a shove or two to get it to convey a little more emotion...

Life is so full of life. I love it when my pictures are able to portray life exactly as i remember it or even as exactly as i want to express it. Why limit yourself by rules? Infinite possiblities exist within our minds, yet so many of us still cling to the notion that expression should be contained! go figure. Anyway, hope this makes it all the more confusing...

oh, and the #'s 0-9 control opacity not only for the brush (cloner, eraser, etc) you're holding, but if the move (v) tool is active, the #'s also control layer opacity.

an easier way might be to just applying a layer blending mode, like Multiply. In your layer palette.... Taking this approach is much more interesting cause you can try all the different blending modes to achieve a variety of effect.

whoops! yes in some way i was being serious, but mostly i was attempting to stereotype the sterotype. Tho joking for the most part, there was of course truth hidden within. But yes Jordy, for the most part, trailer parks are NOT overflowing with hillbillies and other lower forms of life on the much stereotyped evolutionary ladder. White trash is everywhere. Nearly all of us here in America can be considered ignorant, petty and greedy. But, we all know that. Some are just a bit more colourful than others. (yes, i know i'm a mean man)

And just for the sake of understanding, in case anyone is actually reading this, i would like to clarify that the people i photograph are in no way perceived by me as being less than i am. I'm not capturing their moments in an attempt to ridicule or somehow degrade. When i look through my lens i see only beauty. I know that in the end we all are equal. These photos are meant for people to enjoy, and for me as an attempt to understand or at least to document that which fascinates me nearly as much as do the heavens. Something like that anyway... OK? bedtime..

Asalina, oh how right you are about the shirts. The promo shirts are a big hit with these folks. And i know that somewhere i've got some pics like that. In fact, i know i have a photo of a mullet in all marlboro gear... Just cant seem to find any like that right now... oh well. Here's another nice one tho...

blue flower? you mean the Tickle me Elmo shirt? that's a girl silly boy... You know, the funny thing is is that i so rarely get noticed when im out taking pics. I try and stay off to the side as much as possible, or at a distance works well too since im using a 28-300mm most of the time. That, or it's the fact that most of the people i photograph would never believe that they are the subject of a photographers interest...

LOL, alright, i'm done for now. Hopefully this has been an educational or at least entertaining experience for you. I really cant answer why it is that i find myself so compelled to document this segment of society. And just like most of the passions in my life, i do it without question and without knowing why. My only understanding is that there's a reason which someday will reveal itself... i hope.
