Thanks so much for the response. Hope all is well with you. Your software is amazing !!!
I think I've narrowed down my explosion issues to some rigged fingernails for the G3 character I'm using. I purchased them in the DAZ store years ago. For some reason, if I first remove them from the character before doing a VWD animation simulation it works fine. But with them fitted to the character the explosion always occurs.
Regarding the geograft, I don't even know what that is, so I doubt I applied it to my G3. Unless some morphs I purchased have it...
Anyway, what I usually do is make OBJ files for my clothing in Blender and export them to DAZ and VWD to perform simulations. And generally the simulations work fine. I've figured out the correct mesh density and how to make the mesh uniform in Blender, so I usually get some great simulations.
Thanks for the help !

Also, apparently you have to make certain that you don't "dual define" any vertices. For example, if I define a few vertices as "nail to collision", then select ALL vertices, including the nailed vertices, and make them scaled, KABOOM !!!

Yeah, I think it's the fingernails I added. Those things have to be one of the worst things I've ever bought for G3 characters. Difficult to figure out how to use them, and now this. I removed them and it works fine. I thought it was due to my scaling/shrinking the cloth mesh too much, but as best as I can figure it was the fingernails.
Thought it seems strange that a piece of fitted "clothing" would cause a problem. Anyway, lesson learned. Remove ALL smoothing modifiers and get rid of fingernails.

Okay, I tried it with a base G3 figure with only some morphs applied as in the original character and it works fine. I'm guessing there was some part of my character that I added that caused it to go crazy. Now I just need to figure what it was. Maybe some fingernails or some other hi res morph or something...

Weird. It seems like this is a visual artifact of some sort in the VWD preview window, and the simulation is actually working under that weird exploded mesh. At least that's what I found after removing the Smoothing Modifier from the base G3 character (DAZ Studio). I saw in the manual that the Smoothing Modifier can cause havoc, and finally realized that not only the cloth can't have it but also the collision object needs it removed.
I let it run for 150 frames, and although much of the preview was blocked by the exploded mesh I could see a simulation going on underneath. And it successfully sent the animation to the host at the end.
Weird. And I guess support for this wonderful product isn't what it used to be? I really hope the authors of this wonderful software have great success with it, it's an amazing piece of software.

OK, I think I got if figured... Read the documentation. It says to use the Assistants in setting up the sim, and that worked great. I love this software.

All, Has anyone noticed that if you select your GPU for simulation its FAR more likely the cloth will explode than if you use your CPU? I have a GTX1080ti, and if I select it there's like a 70% chance it will explode, but if I do the exact same sim with my Ryzen (8 cores) it's fine. Not really a big deal, BTW, since VWD is so amazing at doing its sims. I still can't get over how smoothly and realistically the cloth sims work in VWD. Every where I go I'm telling folks how wonderful this is.

Arrgghhh.... I needed to copy the .dll into the C:ProgramFilesDAZ3DDAZStudio4 Public Build in order for it to be seen by 4.12...
Seems like it works now...
I sure hope all these installation steps get included in an installation script for the next version

Okay it looks iike "About Installed Plugins" shows the "VWD Bridge Support Plugin" in my 4.11 version, but not the 4.12 Studio beta. And now VWD seems to be working intermittently in 4.11, but not 4.12. Maybe there's different installation procedure for 4.12?

After messing around a bit I'm now back to the same error I had initially, "Can't find variable: VWDPluginExchangeLib". I did all the previous recommendations that worked last time, but this time it still doesn't work.
Though last time I never really figured out why it started working.
BTW, the results are the same with either 4.11 or 4.12 beta

After being successful in running the latest VWD beta and 4.11, I recently re-installed everything on my hard drive to add an SSD. So I went thru and followed the instructions for VWD beta again, and when trying to run VWD I got the following error. Anyone have any ideas? I re-did the installation steps a few times just to be sure I did it okay. I also have VWD folder installed on D:VWD. Thanks

Apologies...
I re-copied the 64 bit dll into the plugins folder, verified VWDSupport.dll doesn't exist in that folder, and VOILA it now works.
I could have sworn I copied the 64 bit version, but maybe I did a stupid and copied the 32bit? Anyway, It seems to be all set now. Thanks again.

Thanks, but I already moved it during initial installation. I tried to update my reply to show that but I guess Rendo has a time limit for editing

Thanks. The only VWD-related entry I see is "VWD Exchange", and that is shown as selected, but "failed to load" with a red plug. I don't see a VWDBridge support plugin entry.
I'll try to re-copy the 64 bit plugin into the plugins directory.

All, I'm using 64 bit Studio 4.11.0.383, and downloaded the latest beta. Made a new folder (D:VWD) and followed the steps to install. Put VWDExchange.dll in C:Program Files...plugins), and disabled the VWDSupport.dll (ie, added ".OFF" to the filename). In Studio I reset the path, then started VWD, and got an error "error occurred while reading the file". The log says
"Error in script execution: C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library/Scripts/VWD/Cloth and Hair (beta V2.1.858.6150)/Start VWD.dsa" and "ReferenceError: Can't find variable: VWDPluginExchangeLib"
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks
