Well, I think modo appears to be a little epensive if I got it right from their website. And Carrara? I will wait until all you enthusiastic people will have bought it and report the first big bugs contained in the software. I really like Carrara but sometimes this progy is strange. Version3 has still to many bugs which will be substituted by new bugs in version4 I believe. And I agree with some others here: If you sell a pro version than include all of the important plugins and not just cad style (which I do not need) and transposer (which I do have but which needs improvement). Eovia tries to make much money (which is sort of ok) but we users should be careful, try the demo first and report our experience with the demo to the community. pre-ordering a software because you can get a free t-shirt like one person here reported seems to be a little stupid.

Yes, you can export trees from CS3. And yes, you can import them into Bryce5.

No, its not the light through transparency option. I do have the same problems when importing "CoolCoils" to Carrara. There is always something like a glowing "aura" around the the coils. The only solution for me was to avoid transparency for the coils which might not be a solution for other hairstyles. In general Carrara is a nice program but sometimes there are so many difficulties and bugs for the money I payed that it is really not funny anymore.

Indeed Eovia should fix this. I have the same problem with one of my pics. It does not use indirect lightning but Anything Grooves. The "unkown error" occurs excactly after 44.6 % of the pic are rendered independent from the output format. All the time. This really sucks. Well, Shonner, I also dont know the reason for crashing but it sucks. I really like Carrara but before upgrading with a possible CS4 I will test the demo version with excactly this scene. If it doesnt work, well, I am also thinking about switching to C4D... -Emell-Marcus Lutz

Try to use AnythingGrooves for the ground. That could help since it would create a more terrain like feeling and the houses would not look so separated. Although it will effect rendering time.Marcus Lutz
