That still seems slow to load less then a gig of information. You might want to run a benchmark to see if your cpu or hardisk is under preforming.
Also empty ram is wasted ram but 8gb is a bit low (Never upgraded windows from 7 to 10)
You could also try un-compressing all the morphs to your temp folder.
Edit: What is your virtual memory set as?

Well I did succeed at creating a very high quality low definition version of an HD morph I had made. I did not trick daz regarding the dhdm files.
So back to work on the full HD version of G8F

Still investigating that I am not giving myself a false positve, but I am optimistic that I have an HD morph that will load on the base version of G8F. Notice the HD level on the morph.

But there are upwards of 100 of them for each base figure and hundreds more for each character. Most are not direct morphs but only apply during certain circumstances requiring specific configuration. Wouldn't each need to be exported at the higher res and then manually reapplied taking tens if not hundreds of hours of work?
I'm not sure what encryption has to do with your process?
I have all the correctives with the updated geometry, its just a process of ensuring they are called on as correctives,

Wouldn't this break all the joint correctives and flexions in the Genesis 8 figure? Some of these correctives are pretty complex to rebuild with a process like it seems you are using here.
Thankfully those files are not encrypted

What is this? Did you take the existing G8F, export at Subdiv2, import, rerig with G8F skeleton? This would mean existing G8F morphs wouldn't work with this new mesh.
Partially but as you said if it where that simple most functionality would be gone and the entire reason for making it work in Daz would be moot
Here is default dev load G8F by HD G8F with Daz standard Pear figure morph applied.

Thanks the lack of ability to edit the first post after so many minutes bugs me on this site.

Thread: Problems with Felldude morphs | Forum: Freestuff
An error was found in an old version of one of the prior versions of the freckles character and should be addressed. That being said simply downloading the new version will not remove the file with the bad reference...The file was Big Nips.dsf found in data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 8/Female/Morphs/Felldude (Thanks to huroos_29c607f33c at daz forums for finding it)
You can remove that file itself if you still have it. I think that file was also in the breast morphs pack.
If any of my uploads overwrote or even included any original daz files they would not be approved by renderosity. However I have made mistakes in naming conventions in the past. To my knowledge those errors have been fixed.
Also for reference the characters and morph files have to be installed to where ever your base G8 character is. As the character file references: /data/DAZ%203D/Genesis%208/Female/UV%20Sets/DAZ%203D/Base/Base%20Female.dsf#Base%20Female
It will work with any drive or folder configuration before the data folder...but names must be exactly the same after the data/ (note %20 is a space)

Ive added a few more morphs to the mix.
Here is a comparison of displacement vs no displacement. Effects on reflections are quite noticeable

ThunderStone posted at 12:14AM Tue, 18 February 2020 - #4380808 Soooo can it be used within Poser? If not, what do you recommend?
Well this is a WIP, the previous water prop I created was in Daz...I am not an expert on converting daz to poser and have not used poser in many years. But Im sure it could be done, just likely not by me.

Can this be done with the Poser Hi-RES square?
Displacement maps could be used with any square, however morph targets have to have the same number of vertices.

Update:
Daz sphere converted to Sub-D 2x division granite shadier 2x tiles
Water is a plane with 8x Subdivision with custom morphs I made.
Displacement map is 1MB TGA 32 bit at 5x tiling
Added this render: Bump Map 187KB and texture map 87kb
Examples use the same render and texture settings with different morph values.

Looks good! How large and what format for displacement maps?
One too fifty megabytes with I changed the tilling to be an effective size around 4k I didn't see much reason to use the (50mb one Top Right in the image) And will probably go with the low res one to not effect render times as much.

The easiest way to make hidden polygons stick would be to transfer the hidden polygons to a new surface and set the Opacity to 0% for that surface.
I agree and will add that applying the DSDefault shadier makes to the newly created surface is recommended (by me) for hiding unwanted areas. Also you can save the figure or prop as an asset and it will save the geometry changes, with out effecting the base model.
