If you like, take a look at this picture in my gallery. It was done in V5E and uses Flink's grass. Beautiful models. Haven't really tried them in Ecosystems, though. And yes, they are quite heavy if you have to place each plant as single object.Thread: * * * A PLACE on a name * * * | Forum: Vue

You basically use them like any other material and if asked whether to automatically populate them say yes. The ones that com with V5I are a rather nice starting point for experiments and learning to control them. Difficulties start when you have a very precise idea about what you want and try to achieve that. :-)

I don't really need a new version until all the current functions are fixed and work reliably! As I'm afraid, this will remain a dream... my wishlist for a next version: - really good clouds (and other volumetrics) - better control over terrain structure (for example make smooth slopes in part of terrain while keeping the rest fractal) - beautiful clouds ;-) - more Solid Growth plants resp. better ways to really create new species with the plant editor - wouldn't mind the renderer to be faster - did I mention the clouds??

Thanks for the hint. I'm struggling with the same problem, too, sometimes, but at times it gets even worse... even clicking on the scene preview manually will not update it :-( The material previews always worked this way (with the exclamation mark), but it seems that V5I is often awfully slow at updating them, automatically or manually. Maybe it's really got to do with resource problems, but it's nasty anyway.

I also once modeled a house completely in Vue (see linked image in my gallery). I made the triangles carrying the roof from flat cubes which I formed into triangles by putting other cubes diagonally over them and using boolean subtractions. This was rather tedious so I might today (if I would try it again) use terrains for this purpose just like I did for the walls. The sides of the roof, however, are just flat cubes. Vue is not particularly good at modelling ;-) but I think you learn quite some things about the program messing around with this stuff.Thread: Free Models | Forum: Vue
