Are you using Bryce5? 'cos it looks like you've got some focal blur on the image. (The upper leaves are further away from the camera and they're sharp!) Try disabling the focal blur. If you're using 4 then ... wierd! :)

Ok... It's up in the MarketPlace under "The Krakken". I've also put a free texture pack in Free Stuff... There's loads of stuff in the pack... please take a look if you're interested. Now to make some more free morphs to add to the 14 supplied ones. Any comments/suggestions gratefully received... Hogwarden :)Thread: node selection | Forum: Bryce
Yeah, but if they put that in I will have to sit scrolling through the list for half an hour looking for the part I need... like in the MESH list!! (although holding Shift does speed up the scrolling). I usually use the "Ctrl+click" on the objects in the view panel to select individual objects and "Ctrl+Shift+click" to select multiple objects. This is quick and easy.
Thread: Bryce moon in Poser | Forum: Bryce
I would suggestfully utilising the Bryce renderer... i.e. when you've got the pose right, export the objects and import them into your original Bryce scene. That way, not only do you solve the problem of pixellated moons but you get the models rendered better as well! It may well take a little longer, but the results will be well worth it!
Thread: How much did your longest rendering take? | Forum: Bryce
I don't find these long render times a problem... although 10 days is a little excessive! There's no problem with continuing work in other apps while Bryce is crunching and... I'm not too sure about this, but is Bryce the only app which allows you to save a render somewhere in the middle and continue rendering at another time? This feature is EXTREMELY useful... I render overnight and through the day and work on new stuff in the evenings. But of course I'm ONLY a hobbyist! These speed-freak pros must think we're cRaZy!

Do you have the texture set to "World Space"? Try using "Object Space" and see if that works.

Sky... Re-installing is easy and you don't need to back anything up. It only replaces the files needed to run Bryce and leaves all your data intact. Nothing will be deleted. Just run the setup file on your Bryce CD. Try to install it over the top of the one already on your drive and all your presets etc. will still be there... it seems more likely to be RAM, but give the re-install a try. Might work. Howie

Sky... 256Meg might not be enough ram if as you say the object is very large... looks like this is your problem as I believe the Kern32 DLL (part of windows) deals with memory allocation. Ram is extremely cheap these days - Last week I upgraded from 256 to 768Meg and it only cost me 45UK ($64US). Strangely, I havn't had a single Bryce crash since! And I didn't mean to worry you about corrupted files... but it happens. It might be worth re-installing Bryce anyway as it takes 2 minutes and will not cause ANY bad effects. Then if it still happens get more RAM. Hope you succeed in exporting those objs! Howie.

Hi, Skygirl Bryce can become unpredictable when it is choked for RAM... How much RAM has your machine got? If you're on a MAC, I believe that you can alter the amount of RAM allocated to each application. If you have plenty of memory then it might be a good idea to re-instal Bryce in case you have a corrupted file.
Thread: thunderbirds are go! | Forum: Bryce
I think Selbach is after models from the Gerry Anderson TV show Thunderbirds... I've seen some of these somewhere... I think it was a site carrying models of Skycar and Space 1999... back soon!

How about a bowl of spaghetti parented to the head object? Better still, just render Vicky and flick the spaghetti all over you monitor!! Wahay!
Thread: MAT files for distribution... How do I get the paths right?? | Forum: Poser Technical
Sorry about this but I might have sorted it... Is it as simple as this? I've noticed that some CR2's use the format ":Runtime:Textures:SeaBeast:SeaBeastTex01.jpg" instead of "C:/Program files/Poser4/Runtime/..." etc for the paths to the textures. Is Poser that clever or am I hoping for too much? Howie.
Thread: new @ using poser4 and needing help with plugins | Forum: Poser Technical
Ok... Always nice to help a newbie as we've all been there! Generally speaking, there will be a text file in the ZIP which should tell you where everything goes. You will usually find that the paths are already setup in the zip file... you just select "use folder paths" and unzip into your "Poser" directory... but this isn't always the case. If you have deviated from the "usual" installation paths when installing Poser, as I have, this can cause problems. For instance... a zip may be setup to automatically unzip into "C:/Program Files/Metacreations/Poser/runtime..." My directory layout is "C:/3d/poser4/runtime" so I have to manually place the files as shown in the text file. General rules of thumb are... Only "OBJ" file have to be in the right place... somewhere in the Runtime/Geometries/Whatever folder... See the text file! If you put texture images in the wrong place, don't worry... you will be prompted to find the files by Poser when you load up the figure/character/whatever. I find that the Windows "Find Files" utility comes in extremely usefull at this stage! The figure files (CR2 and RSR) must be together, but can be put anywhere you like in your Poser/Runtime/Libraries/Character/whatever directory. Again... Read the text file! To use your new downloads when they are unzipped, look in the Figures section in the right hand bar and you will find them there! The Right hand bar basically mirrors the file system within your Poser/Runtime/Libraries Folder... But remember not to create any sub-sub folders or poser will not find the files! This often happens when unzipping manually and forgetting to uncheck "use folder paths" in WinZip. Hope I've not confused you too much!!!! Have fun... best way to learn is to experiment!! HW
