Drivers. Make sure you have downloaded all the current ones availible for your peripherals, even if updating from 2k or NT4. Some of the off brand hardware has problems with the generic drivers included in XP. Also be aware that if you burn cds with Adaptec, you'll have to go to their web site for the XP patch to createcd. For some reason I lost all burner capability when I upgraded. Adaptec wants the registration number for your current CreateCD before they give out the patch, so have that handy. Once it's up and running though, the OS is pretty stable. Hope this helps jbear

Suggestion: Jaager had a great lineage of poser figures document. Don't know if he has updated it recently, you'll have to ask. It is in the FAQ for ab3dp. Might be a good starting place or a baseline then you could put out the call for other well known charactors he hasn't included. Also wanted another chance to thank someone publicly for a piece of poser knowledge that helped when I started. His text file made sorting through d/l's less confusing. Thanks Jaager. Only thing I've seen missing from these types of listings or tuts is the common acronyms people use to describe them. SMV? NYM? (I do know those now). I have to go to my tuts binder and jot down new ones constently. Thought I left the crazy world of acronyms when I retired from DoD :). jbear

Oct 1st. Last day DoD accepted retirements. As far as I know they are still on hold. Only reason they let me go was the movers were already at the house. Didn't pull flight duty either, but worked part time in Cheyenne Mt. for USPACECOM/NORAD. Rest of the time at Peterson. Lots of TDY so I really did my time in some Holiday Inn Expresses :). Side Note: All bags are OD green now. USPACECOM/NORADs were gray, AF Spacecoms were blue. Not just the aviators got them, anyone who qualified in an ops position got them. Since the detail is too fine, I didn't mention it but maybe a scarf would help too?

...also, flight jacket, unlike the flight suit, doesn't normally have unit patch, it's a majcom one. Most folk would recognize Air Combat Commands, go grab a copy of it off their web site.

Great image. Recently retired from USAF myself, this reminds me of quite a few scenes before extended TDY's and deployments. The only two things I found missing that no self respecting Ego-Driver,...er Eagle pilot is without, sunglasses and flight cap. Since you probably don't want to ruin the facial composition, specs are out. But every confirmed 'bag wearer normally has their flight cap crammed into the ankle pocket, at least that's where I kept mine. It is against regs to have it showing down there but regs and fighter jocks don't always go hand in hand :). Shouldn't be too hard to fit one in there, half in and half out of the pocket. You made me go look at my jacket for the first time since retirement, yours is slightly brighter maroonish, but mine is relatively new and hasn't faded yet. Anyway, great work, thanks for sharing.

I also understand your policy. No need for apology. P3do is one of those indispensible tools that will always have a spot on my system, regardless of cost. It has amazed me that it was free for so long. I'm sure the sentiment is shared by all it's users. Thank you for a wonderful tool and keep up the good work, dying to see the improvements in the future. Jbear

Been a while since I used 98, but try Start>Programs>Accesories>System tools>System Info. One of the menu items at the top of the window that pops up is "tools". If I remember correctly thats where you'll find SFC Jbear

Kieraw- Thanks again, I will ask in Community Ideas. Agreed on too much concern over code theft. Gave the owner benefit of the doubt, maybe she had a bad day, whatever, her loss, not mine, I didn't go back. Ron-Have a few of yours, thank you for the time invested in them. Your "Vicki texturing" is duct taped to the side of my graphics box, right next to jimball's guide to file placement. (Greatest Invention since fire, that duct tape)

Kieraw- Thanks for the link, great stuff. Yeah, stealing. Have a long email ranting on theft of code, design and such. Wasn't poser related. Apologized and haven't been back since. She did have the tut as a PDF download, I missed it. Error in the interface between the ears. I did point out that if I was stealing something I wouldn't have left comments in the guest book, but you can't please everybody.

I used to save 'em that way (to HD) but a few site admins asked me not to, felt I was stealing their site. Guess I'll go back to doing that but asking first. sigh

Thanks, makes sense. Playing around with it on a sphere didn't seem to do anything as far as I could tell. Something to keep in the back of the mental bit bucket when something goes wrong though. Once again, thanks for the info. Jbear
