I have to agree with nruddock
I was having all kind of unrelated weirdness, which disappeared when I switched to SreeD for previews. Â
I know this means that previews are slower, but I'm just waiting till a better driver comes out for my Gigabyte Nvida 8800GTS.

I found the problem, apparantly some OpenGL incompatblity between my software and my new Nvidia 8800 GTS video card.
My workaound:
menu "Render"..".Render settings"
tab "Preview"
Change from "OpenGL" to "SreeD"
In other words turn off video card's hardware acceleration.
It's kind of annoying since it's an expensive video card. My nVidia 7800GTS (???) worked fine
Thanks to all for the assistance.

I found a weird bug, maybe it's percular to my configuration only.
First some background:
I have several external runtimes: Micheal, Aiko, ...
When you exit Poser, it writes LibraryPrefs.xml. When you start it puts you in the same place.
Now the problem:
If the external library points to Victoria 4, Poser starts, but as soon as I move my mouse it crashes.
Once I restored LibraryPrefs.xml, it worked OK.
As I said could be a fluke, or one-off

I just read my own post (Duh), and figured out this is all I had to do
XCOPYÂ
"C:somedirectoryRuntimelibraries!DAZ*.*"Â
"C:Poser 6Runtimelibraries!DAZ"Â
/S /E /F
In other words I just need to copy the !DAZ directory, and the rest can stay in the external runtime.
Thanks for the quick responses.

Assuming you have Windows, try these magic keys Alt-tab Switch between the open items Alt-esc Cycle through items in the order that they had been opened Alt-F4 Try, try again Windows Logo-M Minimize all windows. Sometimes this will expose hidden dialog boxes. I found Poser doesn't like this, and requires a "Ctrl-Alt-Del-Esc" to force a refresh. Or there's the three finger salute, Ctrl-Alt-Del, and use the task manager to switch windows

I think svdl's point is most software can be installed to multiple machine, but typically the number of concurrent users has to match the license number. In other words, if you're running two copies of Poser at the same time you should LEGALLY have two licenses. Having said that, even disconnecting your network cable while Poser starts would probably be enough to prevent it from finding other copies on the network. I remember doing this very thing on some ancient Macintosh software.

If you want to "roll your own", all you need is your 1) your favorite MAT 2) a good seam guide. Plenty here in freestuff 3) a graphics package such as Adobe Photoshop or PSP It's not the most sophisicated solutions, but quick to render since it reduces complexity.

You think that's bad. I paid $500 for a cell-phone, and it sold for $250 three months later.
