All images that are not his own have now been removed . If your image was there and you did not know it, not to worry, it's gone, hopefully for good.

Admin staff have deactivated his account until he removes all images he does not own the copyright to. Hopefully this will now resolve the issue in full.

Hi Judi
That link is no longer active but the Black Cats are still in the link I provided above. The staff are doing all they can to remove the images that are not his (I think that's probably a safe 99.99%). The will need to establish that each one is not his own works. It would be helpful if artists are able to identify their work and inform the staff with proof (a link to their own gallery will suffice).

Congrats Yvonne and well done. I'm a bit late in sending this but it's a positive step forward for fractal art and I'm so glad you took the opportunity. Would be nice to see you with your artwork on display. Although I'm not too far across the sea, I can't make it but would love to see some photos.

Thanks Rick for this info and I'm pretty shocked. I didn't realise at first but when uploading an image, DA make this available for mobile desktops unless you untick the box. It could have happened this way but then again there's nothing to stop someone just right clicking over your image and saving it then uploading to their mobile. If your work is being sold as mobile desktops then I think you should approach the company, they have no right to do this without your permission.
I'm off to look at the website.
Thanks
Heather

Michael (miwi) is number 17 in the Favourite Images list with his Fractal Seashell and it's definitely worthy of its place. It is a shame there's only one (as far as I can see) and can completely understand Judi where you are coming from. There are some very beautiful nude images that are artistic in every respect and tastefully done and then there are those that are created in a distasteful way, usually with enormous breasts, posing in a provocative manner, not in the slightest bit artistic...the reason for this I can't understand, to me it's not art, but then again, art should provoke an emotion/reaction in the viewer and that's exactly what these images do.
I try to avoid the main gallery page and go straight to the fractal gallery to avoid all the boobs and bums. If I can remember from when I first joined (correct me if I'm wrong) but you can choose not to have these nude images displayed when you login. I know this does not solve the problem about the Art Charts and Rendo will always be what it is.
I'm one person not frequenting the Fractal Gallery much these days. I don't have the time and well...find the gallery a little more laborious than before.
Overall, I think the Art Charts do contain some fantastic art and I think it's worth a look...even if you have to try to avoid all the nudity. But it would be nice to have a nudity and non-nudity chart. I'm sure many artists from the Terragen Gallery (or any other non-nudity galleries for that matter) would probably share our thoughts too.

Thanks Stephi. The books I've looked at are perfect for anyone who has an interest in art, nature and mathematics. Ideal for anyone creating art with any fractal software. They are on my Xmas list already. Thanks again Stephi for finding these treasures, Heather.
Thread: A Tutorial of Sorts on Masking | Forum: Fractals
I would recommend Maria's tutorial to everyone, whether you know how to mask or not :thumbupboth:
I’m impressed with her hard work. I had a feeling from the very start of being taught by a professional with much patience, understanding and kindness. Her first page is a real encouragement to anyone who has struggled with UF and the fact that she is sympathetic and sharing her experiences too makes this tutorial very relaxed and very personal. It’s very well laid out and the way she encourages you to experiment by “toggle this button”, “move this slider”, “try this” and so on is very valuable and helps you lose the fear of touching areas of UF many would never dare to go.
The way it’s laid out on her website is brilliant, allowing the viewer to move forwards and backwards at any stage. Being able to move back a step is again is of great value to anyone who may not have quite understood the previous step.
I leant something new too. Many thanks Maria. I’ve got to thank you loads for that very valuable piece of information
Overall I'd give her 10/10 for a very informative and valuable tutorial.
Thanks again Maria  for sharing this with us.

Personally, I think it is wrong to publicly criticise someone's work in a negative way. It's embarrassing for the artist. It's much better to send a personal IM. The artist is more likely to listen, understand, learn and appreciate critisism and not take it personally. If someone is continually uploading images that appear un-appealing because of their colour, then is it possible that their monitor is not calibrated correctly? If so, would it not be a good idea to point this out in an IM? How can we improve our artwork if we cannot get honest critisism? How can we give honest critisism if we are constantly afraid of offending? Send an IM and take time to point out the positive as well as the negative. After all you've taken the time to look at their image so there must be something positive before you decided to click on the thumbnail. I'd prefer to have honest critisism than to be constantly living in a bubble uploading images I think people like when in reality they dislike. How about we all help one another to improve and stop being afraid of offending.

I think with Nick now occupied with his new role and Barb on her own has not helped the current situation. We just need to be patient. I miss it too but still have faith all will change in good time.

What a wonderful way of introducing the concepts of art and mathematics to the younger generation. I remember a "Science Bus" visiting our primary school (many years ago now) and what a wonderful experience it was. I do hope the bus continues to tour the country and maybe something similar can happen in other countries too. It's an important step forward in helping children and students alike to enjoy mathematics in a visual way. Congratulations on your hard work and devoted input. Heather
