As far as I know you can use 3dS files in Poser. You need to go to file then select import from the drop down menu. You will have a copuple of options to select like import to center or floor. I don't know if you would be able to edit files but you can use them like any other poser file. As always with using a format not orginally inteneded for a particular program you may find some odd little problems. Hope this helps.

You are more than welcome. Isn't it a real relief to see the thumbnails again. I think the SR4 should have come with more of an explanation or warning. Glad to hear that you got it to work. Glad too that I brought up the issue as it seems there are at least a few more happy campers out there and I got a great tip about the size of the images.

Unfortunately, I just purchased the Tailor and probably won't have time to play/learn it for some time. My impression is that you transfer the morhps from the character in quest to the clothers you are try to make fit. I don't know what the limitations are. In any event you can read more about it at the DAZ site/store.

I don't know if this will work but it may be worth investigating if you can get clothes to fit using the Tailor Program available from DAZ.
