finally got the update to work. After exploring the forums at daz it was revealed that if your poser folder was name anything other than "poser" (ex: poser 6) the secondary desktop update apps don't work. After changing the folder name it now works. Seems like a lot of hassle to update a figure that is only a few months old. Also seems the v4 characters I've bought over the last few months may not work with the update. So I either have to get updates to all those or still keep v4 in my runtime as well. Poser is becoming a hassle to use, to program is a hd hog, way to slow.It's also getting too expensive to by clothes and characters for all updates. I've been using a trial version of modo and once it gets the ability to bone and animate characters I'm done with poser.

sorry ment to say using poser 6 sr3 also i did a little research and there's at least 1 other mac user on the daz forum claiming to have the same problem. And after looking at the product list for V4.1 base and morphs there are no files named V4BodyGrps.pz2, V4BodyChnnls.pz2, V4HipGrps.pz2, V4hipchannls.pz2 that are to be istlled with these updates. I also run into the problem using the V4.1 to V3 character.

any mac user gotten her to launch? I have updated to v4.1 and so far i have not been aable to get her to launch. I get the following error.. please locate "V4BODYGrps.pz2" when i cant find that on my hd or in the runtime folder created by the installers I select continue without loking further. and then i get a series of error messages like could not find...V4BodyGrps.pz2, V4BodyChnnls.pz2, V4HipGrps.pz2, V4hipchannls.pz2... this goes on and on in these mysterious pairs until I force quit poser. When I look in the !DAZ/Victoria 4/folders I see all sorts of odd names like 00-ps_pe069_DAZ_Chnnls.pz2, 00-ps_pe069_DAZ_Chnnls.pz2 and 03-ps_pe069_DAZ_Chnnls.pz2, 03-ps_pe069_DAZ_ERC.pz2, 03-ps_pe069_DAZ_Grps.pz2. I'm using poser 6 sr 2 and yes everything that came with the update was installed in the internal runtime. I think Daz has sent out defective files again.

i'm a mac user and most of my friends have pc. at work we are 1/2 mac 1/2 pc, Pc seems best for people who like to customize and want a wide range of software, the mac is best for those who don't want to have to know a lot about how it works and whos software needs are basically personal life management or graphics. Both platforms seem to leapfrog eachother in terms of speed and processing power. As an artist I want to concentrate on my art and the mac allows me to do that with little worry about the mechanics of the computer. I will say I do love the ads and how they capture the public images of steve and bill. Mac has never been about selling all the facts in ads or on there packaging they let the web site and mac stores do that. But i have been frustrated when I go to and electronics plavce that doesn't have mac eperts to tell the details. If you live near a mac store go there for your info and answers to any hardware issues. Got a little off topic sorry, to sum things up both platforms have advantages for differnt people. And please forgive steve and us macs enthusiests for having a little fun at bills expense. After years of being told we were second rate, a little success has gone to our heads.

I was able to download yesterday afternoon. It did drop out a couple times during my first attempts to download ( first time around 170mb and the others around 500mb) I just kept restarting the download and eventually I was able to get a link that didn't drop out. I ordered on sunday and got it monday pm. As far as them having to reset the download, I'm not sure why they need to do that since the download is good for 30 days. I would try agian during the off hours.

Got updated files from PhilC this morning and everything works like a charm. Thanks Phil

looks like I'm missing the character data files. Sent an email to Phil C to find out where I get them.

Talked to poser tech guys they say it could be a font issue, and after talking to my it dept it appears they deleted some fonts from the basic os build. they said theyed put them back so i'll see if that fixes things. thanks to all that responded

I'm a big Daz supporter although I haven't gotten the hang of Daz studio still preffer original Poser (old habits I guess) but I've been a platinum club member since day 1 and a new Art-zone members as well. I'm also a big fan of Eovia having owned carrara since the begining and Hex 1 as well. I have also preordered Hex 2. If this announcement has delayed Hex2 or delays my preorder retreval I will be pissed off. Mainly because I find it hard to believe that 2 weeks ago when the release date of Hex 2 was mid april, the the 18th to the 28th (promised to hit as close to the 18th as possible) that they didn't know this was in the works and could affect the release. I also hope that this doesn't mean that the eovia products are going to start swaying in the direction of support Daz Studio and leaving Poser behind. It's a main reason I own them now. I guess time will tell but as I get older I starting to understand the comments about change my grandparents used to quote. Not a big fan of the american greed and takeover fever. Been burned to many times in th last 10 years and seen to many of my friends let go and quality of life go down. Small businesses with great people doing great things get bought out and start worring more about %s of profit more than people and product. Fingers crossed and hoping this news turns out better than it sounds.

I run poser from my 30gb Ipod at work since I can't install it on my work computer. Firewire conection works great.
