I actually had someone from Daz send me a working file for one of the two downloads I've been trying to install. And it worked. Maybe if you tell them that, they can send you a file too.
I almost deleted it because I didn't read the Daz email first, and I saw this other email from a 3rd party download site saying that I had a file to download. I thought it was a scam/trojan virus at first until I read the Daz email.

Quote - Hmm...I'm still trying to figure out this whole Gensis thing. I don't want to spend another several hundred dollars on a new figure.
Oh you'll want to get Genesis, spend a bunch of money and get all the Genesis accessories as well. It's definitely worth it. IMHO of course.
As much as I dislike Daz right now for their numerous sins, I can honestly say that they got it right when they made Genesis. The figure lives up to the hype.
I suggest you wait until after they get everything running again, because they might be offering some good discount prices on Genesis products.....maybe...hopefully...
Thread: Daz Studio 4.5 crashed in under a minute | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Must be something with my hardware configuration. I just had another crash, this time the session lasted about 4 minutes. I uninstalled it and put version 4 back on, I'll just have to wait until the full release and hope it works better.

I wasn't part of the mailing lists, but I first joined when it was the Poser Forum, run by Willow. There are still people here that were here before me I am sure. Whatever her faults Willow was a strong character and wouldn't have stood for the childish arguments and 'Grandstanding' that happen here now. She was quick with the ban stick when the need arose. lol.
Ah yes, the good old days. I miss Willow, I wonder what's become of her. And I can only imagine what she thinks of all the changes that have taken place from the humble beginnings of the PFO. It seems like a lifetime ago, doesn't it?

Looks like the link to Daz Studio 4.5 Release Candidate is working again. I'm downloading it now. (may the great cyber gods smile upon me)

I realize that some of the people here have worked in similar situations and can sympathize with Daz and the hard work they are now dealing with.
But with that said, I think every customer that has been, not just inconvenienced, but stressed out by trying to download a product they paid for, not having a forum available (except this one) to be informed as to what is going on, and clicking on the same old broken links time and time again, also deserve some sympathy...at the very least.
There's no doubt that a lot of work is involved, and some of that work involves PLANNING. It's obvious Daz did not plan for this transition very well. It was suggested that they might have followed RDNA's example of just shutting the site down while they make the changes, instead of having a crippled, half-working mess that's there right now. But again, as already mentioned, DAZ is once again showing it's big corporate mentality and placing the old mighty dollar ahead of it's customers' satisfaction.
Taylor Wilson mentioned "we will be offering special offers to help make this right, so stay tuned!" Well it better be something pretty "special" to offset the frustration that is being felt right now. More likely we'll end up with a voucher for a few dollars off a product we already have.
I'm usually a pretty patient person, but when a product I need to finish a paying project is hanging in front of my face, just outside of my reach, FOR DAYS, my patience has officially run out.

Yeah, I just got an email too. I appreciate that I got any response at all (including all the responses from Richard) but I was kind of hoping that after the weekend we'd find everything working again on Monday. I guess that was too big of a thing to hope for.
Oh well....patience....

Okay thanks Richard, we're making progress. I'll just need to have my downloads reset when the problem is sorted out.
I also tried disabling my anti-virus programs. I have Bitdefender on my PC and ESET on my laptop. That didn't help.

bobvan: Yeah I know, I'm just frustrated because I'm having several problems with Daz right now. I guess it depends on how you use Daz Studio, for example I really don't use Reality that much, and I would be interested to see some of the new features in 4.5, like the ability to include morphs with auto-fit and supposedly a faster, more responsive user interface.
Oh well, maybe by Monday things will get sorted out.

So far over 1700 views on the Daz forum post that supposedly links to the download of Daz Studio 4.5. That's 1700 times people have read that message, tried to click on the download and have an error page pop up. And yet we're told that the link can't be immediately fixed, the message can't be changed or deleted (to let people know they are wasting their time clicking on the link), and they are unable or unwilling to actually make Daz Studio 4.5 available again.

Yeah, I get a "page not found" error whenever I click on that "Submit a Help Request" button too. I hate to complain but its bad enough that all this stuff isn't working but to have a customer service rep give you such uninformed information as to "keep on trying" is just like pouring salt on an open wound. I think at the very least the customer service staff should be made aware of what's going on (what's working and what's not working)

Well as I said, these files (the two products) had the same result on my PC and my laptop, while all the other files worked fine. I didn't get a search dialogue, only a few times I got a "Did this software install correctly?" dialogue, mere seconds after I clicked on the .exe file. Most other times, I clicked on them, got the spinning blue circle for a couple of seconds and then nothing else happened.
I tried rebooting on each computer and clearing the cache and cookies.
Gladiator Sandals for V4- 7.25 MB
Bijou Character and Hair (two files) 37 MB and 1.2 MB

Thanks I already tried that. I cleared everything in Firefox including cookies, cache, etc. I changed the name of the old file, and I tried downloading it again. The file size was exactly the same as the previous downloads and unfortunately still does not want to run.
But I did discover something interesting though. The other files that I have recently downloaded that did work are newer products with file names like "13141_B2BasicsJane.exe". It is only the two older products with the old naming system like "ps_ac1826_productname.exe" are the ones that are NOT working.

I tried downloading and running on my desktop PC and on my laptop. The first time on each I got the Windows message (as soon as I clicked on the file): "Program may not have installed correctly - Would you like to try reinstalling?" I clicked on yes, and again, nothing happened at all.
