Thread: Mill Horse 50% Off - D3 and SP3 in Platinum Club | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm really out of touch with the Poser market - how new is this millenium horse? I bought one a couple of years back. Is this the same one? Thanks!
Thread: DON'T BUY TrueSpace at DAZ! (The not so Ridiculously Big CG Sale) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Now I like: Cinema 4d, Rhino, Wings and I wish I could get used to ZBrush because I think it's the best for making heads and critters. I never could understand Truespace, Anim8or, Blender and Shade. I also find that Poser doesn't have an interface that I'm particularly comfortable in for that matter. OTOH a person can learn to use just about anything after a little time with it. I did even manage to become comfortable in Blender at one time, although it's like ZBrush for me, if I'm not using it constantly I have to relearn it all next time I open it up. Like kuroyume I'll enter just in case I win anything, and if I'm lucky then figure out what I'll do with it!:)
Thread: BodyPaint 3D question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think (don't have time right now to run through the tutorial) you need to drag the material "ball" rather than the color channel onto the leftwallbricks object. I don't think I've ever tried dragging one of the channels onto something.
Thread: When is SR2/P6 coming out or "Other Weird Happenings with SR1" | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well now - I don't know that it's a Poser 6 thing to have memory problems on successive renders - I had that problem in Poser 4 as well. I got in the habit of closing Poser every few renders then. When I moved up to Windows XP my memory problems with 4 disappeared, but v6 is much more memory intensive than 4 so it may just be hitting the wall in XP. I don't think a lot of the Poser base code has been rewritten in awhile, so some of the old problems are still hanging around... Poser uses a lot of memory when rendering compared to other software that I have, but I still like it!

There's these in the marketplace - the sole's a lot thicker than in your image thoughThread: Just got this e-mail...now I'm mad !! | Forum: Vue
Count me in as someone who will be very unhappy if this is true, since I recently upgraded from Vue4 (not pro) to V5I for $499. I hope this is a typo in their email (I didn't receive this email).
Thread: Had P6 for a week now; just my take | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ok - I didn't read everything in the thread - but I love P6 - there's something about the render quality that I just like. And of course the most important part is that I agree with Sean Martins first point - James is a very fine looking man - the best looking poser male I've seen so far.

Thread: The Memory Bug | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I use a spyware screening program that notifies me when an a program has been added to start when Windows starts and this morning it notified me that UserFaultCheck had been added. Investigating this program showed that it has something to do with a "memory dump". Last night was the first time I ran Poser 6 for any length of time and did quite a few renders (nothing complex at all), so I'm wondering if this is what triggered this program to be activated by Windows XP. Just curious - not too concerned if nobody knows the answer.
Thread: Error Message when trying to install the Tailor Windows XP sp2 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Found the answer to my problem (see below). Fortunately the fix was simple. "For some reason the installation of SP2 can cause a file called "AUTOEXEC.NT" to be corrupted or deleted. This file is part of the Windows 16-bit subsystem and usually lives in the system32 folder. What's happening when you get this error is that the setup for that program uses InstallSheild which is a 16-bit program. Since the AUTOEXEC.NT file is missing, it can't run the install program. Not everyone who installs SP2 will have this problem, but we've had several calls and emails about it. Fortunately there is a backup of the file living on your hard drive. Double click "My Computer" then your hard drive (probably C drive) and open the "WINDOWS" folder. Open "SYSTEM32" and see if the "AUTOEXEC.NT" file is in there. Chances are it isn't. If it is, then it's probably corrupt. Arrow up or hit "Back" to return to the main WINDOWS folder. Go down to "Repair" and double click. You should find "autoexec.nt" and "config.nt" in there. Copy these files (Ctrl+C) then go back to SYSTEM32 and paste them there (Ctrl+V). It will ask you if you want to replace the old oneclick "Yes". That should do it. Now try installing that program and it should work fine."
Thread: fitting David clothing on M3?? and thoughts about Clothes Converter?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've mainly used clothes converter to convert V3 clothes to Aiko3, and I've had great success. I'm very happy with the program. If you have even a little modeling experience you'll find it easy to use. It does involve pushing vertices around - so if you can't stand that you might not like it. I think it probably has been so easy since I'm going from one unimesh character to another - sounds like that will be automated now {glad to hear of the update markdc :)!}. I'm starting to modify items from the millenium figures to fit rosy cheeks lina, I've only done one so far and it still seemed easy even though there was a lot of scaling difference, so we'll have to see how it goes from here on out.

Thread: Importing from VectorWorks | Forum: Vue
Have you tried running it through Wings3d - if you can export out of vectorworks in 3ds or obj you can import it into wings and then export out in one of the same two formats. Wings is free 3d modelling program - google wings 3d and you'll find it. If you can only export dxf then I don't know what might help (that's free anyway)... If nothing else - wings is a great modelling program, maybe you could try using it instead to model whatever you're looking for.
