One thing that hasn't been mentioned is that copy/paste is now by instance. You can paste thousands of instances without getting memory problems. This allows you to do ecopainting type functionality but with complete and simple control.
Here is an example where the police have been copied. No need for an eco-system.

The shadows do line up. Here is an image taken from above. I have added a couple of spheres and volumetric light so you can see the projection of the sphere objects. The sun is low at 159 degrees pitch (180 degrees is on the horizon).
From this image, you can see the cloud next to the left hand sphere and the shadow of that cloud on the ground also next to the shadow of the sphere.

The above image is with the cloud shadow at 70%.
The below image is with the cloud shadow at 2%

Hi NightVoice. Yes, the Paris image was done that way. The displacement is very small though comparitively. I have one somewhere where it is very exagerated. I also have a whole bunch of image fun like what you asking about. Here is an image of some of them. You will find most of these in the Vue 6 extras CD as part of the original image. ![Displacement textures No.1](http://art.sacada.net/files/displacementmappingAll-002.jpg)Thread: Show us your early Vue 6 renders! | Forum: Vue

Displacements can be very easy. For this one I just checked the "Displacement" checkbox and left all as defaults. Generally the bump map that you would use would be the same as the displacement. The bump "Depth" is used for the displacement depth.Follow the link above to a simple tutorial that I have written about it. It is already out of date as there is a new control for displacement, but it gives you most of what you would need to know.

Here is an example of displacement mapping over a low poly terrain. I pushed the initial terrain down to 64x64 and then added a texture. Next I displaced it and then exaggerated the displacement up to 3.Thread: Show us your early Vue 6 renders! | Forum: Vue

Here is what you can do with displacement texturing and hypertextures. The colored one up front is a hypertexture. Most others are displacement textures.I have other images in my gallery at the above link.
Thread: Vue 5i error | Forum: Vue
Each file of .vue is backed up to a .bak file when you save. This allows you a second backup, one save stage behind the first. You can use this if you stuff up an image and want to revert back to a previous save. You can go to your scene save directory in explorer and rename the .bak file to another file name with a .vue file extension and then load that file into Vue.
Thread: Vue 5i error | Forum: Vue
Just be careful. When you get this error vue will try to save and copy your last .vue to the .bak and then fail on this save creating a corrupt .vue file. If you try it again vue will again copy the .vue file to the .bak and then fail on the save. This leaves you with two corrupt files. A .vue and a .bak. Ouch. When this happens the first time you should rename the .bak file to something else to have a saved backup that you can get back to. I have reported this problem to e-on.

Move all your Poser 5 runtime files over to Poser 6. Then in Vue, go to options and point to the poser.exe in the Poser6 directory. Rename your Poser5 Directory to Poser5_old and then test run it for a while. If all goes well, you could then uninstall Poser5.
