I had this same confusion. I went out and bought a Radeon X700 video card hoping to fix my preview render problem. It worked the same as the older Radeon I had. Thanks for the clarification. A follow up question... How can I get hair to render in the openGL preview?? All I see is the mesh of Koz hair just like it was not rendered at all. I thought I saw a preview render posted that had hair rendered like the firefly render but slightly discolored. Any comments will be appreciated. So far I am not seeing much use for the openGL preview... Thanks, Steve

UPS crushed my poser 6 box so I looked at the CDs carefully before use. The Poser 6 install CD had discoloration that looked like some poor quality CDRs I once bought. (like the layers did not laminate properly during manufacturing). Anyway I was concerned about being able to read it but it worked OK. Maybe your CD has this problem too??? Steve

Thanks, I thought that would be the case. I hope D/S content developers will still produce Poser versions. I guess a D/S importer for Poser would be a good feature for a next Poser release.... Steve

I still have not received a reply from CL. I just reran the sr3 exe on my system over the sr4 install to get back to sr3 also... Probably not the best way to get sr3 back but everything seems to work. Next time I'll back up before intalling a new SR!

I have the same problem with SR4 on Win XP... no shadow tmp files, default lights with firefly work with Depth Map Shadows. Newly created lights do not cast depth map shadows with firefly. I've sent a note to Curious Labs. There is a newer thread that mentions the same problem also.
