You can have poser 11 installed on more than one machine, however running more than one at a time is probably against the license restrictions (poser 2014 checked your local network and wouldn't let you run the program on two machines simultaneously). However poser 11 includes queue manager, which allows you to render over a local network without poser itself running on the other machine, so it is quite possible to render on one machine while working on another.. It also has a render in background option.
Ah - that's good to know, so it should work the same as my old version. Thanks!
Thread: Can Poser Pro 11 license be installed on more than one machine? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just wanted to check on this as I'm about to upgrade to Poser Pro 11. What is the seat licence for this as I can't find this info anywhere? I currently have an older version installed on my main PC and my laptop so that one machine can be rendering while I'm working on different software on the other. Does this still apply with the new version?

That is a surprise. Not really been following anything to do with Poser for a while as I moved to using Blender for most things a while back. I still use my Poser Pro 2012 and old content sometimes though. Not entirely sure what I think about this. I hope Poser doesn't go the way of software Daz bought, like Bryce.

I also love the idea of a retro store. I still use A3 and H3 constantly. Always my fave figures.

Yes. This is the reason I stopped bothering to look at the MP here some time ago. If I have to click on several products just to find out what they are and then find none of them are any use to me then I lose interest very fast.
Unfortunately the search tools are next to useless. I tried with a vendor's store yesterday. For example I wanted to search for only items that were compatible with Poser. But the buttons for different versions of Poser show different products and can't be selected together. Total mess!
The letters on the promo to show what software they are for would be a really good idea!

But in the forums here and RDNA for example you are only going to see a very tiny slice of the total Poser users. You can say that the recent native Poser characters were failures because not much content was made for them, but there are also a great many people who use Poser without constantly buying new external content. Either because the tools we have in Poser make buying new items less necessary, or because they never needed them for their use of Poser. Depending on your use - you could be perfectly happy to use mostly the content you already have. And whatever the failings of CP as a store, it is accessible from inside Poser so perhaps there are many users who may never look any further for their content?
I think the loss of RDNA is a shame from the point of view of older stuff that will be retired - I get a lot of use from recycled clothes for older figures - and it's annoying from the point of view of relocating the official forums. But I don't see it as some kind of death blow for Poser. I strongly suspect that large numbers of Poser users may not even notice.

It doesn't really bother me all that much, except obviously for the loss of the old products that I doubt will make it to Daz - and that content creators are being asked to convert their items for DazStudio so will probably move to that rather than standalone figures. That's a loss for Poser users, but there's still plenty of stuff out there and more tools in Poser to make much more of what's available. There are a load of good standalone figures that work in Poser, we are not restricted in some way to V4 and getting Genesis figures into Poser like people often seem to suggest. What I'm concerned about is where all the useful stuff in the forums is going. I really want to see that sorted fast. Not just the offical Poser forums, but Manga Studio and Anime Studio too. I want to see SM getting this sorted.

Of course Vue is better, but Bryce is still fun. It's sad that it was left to die.
Still waiting for some info on what will happen to the official Poser (and Mangastudio!) forums and where the vendors will be going - who apparently had about the same amount of notice as everyone else for the merger! That seems very bad to me :(

CP is such a mess... most of their help/support links are dead, for one.
So it would be a great opportunity to fix it.

Don't forget Bryce, I never understand why DAZ bought Bryce to put it in a corner and let die, the potential of that tool was, and is , fantastic.
About the thank button, yes it would be a great add-on for the forums.
Absolutely. I'm sad about what happened to Bryce.

Chris posted on Hivewire that SM had told him they are moving the official forums (obviously!), but not where they are moving them to. I hope SM would take this opportunity to redevelop CP and host them there themselves instead of relying on a third party again.

Yeah, one of the reasons probably for selling less Poser content is that it's not that hard to convert clothes between characters if you need to. I rarely even use clothes for the character they were designed for - I have some kind of compulsion to put them on something else XD Plus of course for a long time when there have been complaints about items not being available for less popular figures the response has been "learn to make your own" and maybe a lot of people have done this?

Due to the no Linking Policy here:
Into your Browser's address bar type 'www.runtimedna.com'
then after this type '/downloads.php' then hit return
You will be prompted to login if you aren't already. Zip file links will be on the right; do a right-dlick>Save As to rename them to something understandable by Humans if needed...
Thanks for the info! I found my downloads again once I realised what was going on and got back to the normal website. No idea why it suddenly wanted to show me only the mobile site, but it was a very weird looking un-RDNAy thing! XD
I actually like some of the native Poser characters and use them. The main problem for me is that SM just releases them and abandons them. It's difficult to get very enthusiastic about a new character if all the content you have for them is converted old stuff from other figures or stuff you make yourself. I had hopes for Alyson & Ryan 2 because of Blackhearted's versions and Miki 4 is lovely. But - it's so much easier to just use V4 who has bucketloads of stuff anyway.

Um. I just went over to RDNA and the site is..... not what it was earlier! O_O
I had a vague idea about downloading all my purchases from there because I'm sure there is some stuff I've lost in various computer moves. But it would probably take a couple of days on my connection and I'm not sure how to find it now anyway!
Ah - I just discovered it's trying to force me into the mobile version for some reason. Which is blue. And looks nothing like RDNA.
