Quote - ...update PP2012 to SR3.1...
Sorry to nitpick, but it's Pro 2012 SR3.2 that enables Internet Explorer 11 support.
Thread: Is it possible to go back to SR1 from SR2 for PoserPro 2014? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
OK, then uninstall Poser Pro 2014 (application only, leave the content alone). When re-installing the application, the installer should offer you to 'Use existing preferences'. If you choose that option, all your external content runtimes should remain linked as they are now. You can then install SR1 again.
Before you uninstall, could you render an image that shows the artifacts clearly, and then render the exact same image in SR1? It would be very helpful to see a side by side comparison.

I like MotionArtist (I'm biased of course). It allows you to host Poser scenes to take snapshots.

Thread: Clear render queue log? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you're on Windows, take a look at UsersAppDataRoamingQueue Manager9QueueState.xml - that's where the job list is stored. I'm hesitant to tell you to just delete that file, but it would probably achieve what you are looking for.
Edit: Just move it away and see what happens. If you don't like the outcome, put it back where it was.
The actual log is located at UsersAppDataLocalTempQueue Manager9log.txt and is cleared at the end of each session.

Quote - If you select Miki and delete, her eyelashes stay in the scene.
Make sure to enable the 'Delete attached figures' checkbox on the confirmation dialog, then the lashes will be gone as well.

Quote - None of my lights are pointing at anything when I reload a scene.
OK, could you please submit the simplest possible scene you have that suffers from this to Tech Support? I pointed lights at Andy's feet, and they did exactly what they should after reloading the scene.

Quote - I've also found the "point at" doesn't get saved when you save a scene (at least on lights)
Can't reproduce. If you have a scene that makes this happen reliably please contact tech support immediately.

You can skip step 5 since exporting to COLLADA collects all necessary textures and places them so the references in the DAE are accurate. Geometry, etc. is not needed either, it's in the DAE already.

PoserPython Methods Manual pages 311 and 322, GIPassScale() and SetGIPassScale(). It's not currently exposed in the GUI, but Dimension3D is taking advantage of it.

If you chose to back up preferences unintentionally and don't want to relink all your content runtimes, you can follow the instructions in the attached link.Thread: for those who ask themselves why use GC | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Your texture maps are encoded with a gamma of 2.2. Poser's 'Gamma Correction' actually anti-gamma corrects to get them into a linear state, hence the term 'linear workflow', which is what happens up to the point when you hit the Render button.
What happens next has nothing to do with your workflow, linear or otherwise.
When Poser saves your final render, the image file is encoded with a 2.2 gamma (as it would be from any application saving an image).
The exceptions are if you save in .HDR or .EXR formats which are 32-bits per colour per channel and have a linear response curve (i.e. have a gamma of 1.0).
Exactly. To phrase it in more generic terms: Poser Pro does what the image file format specification implies.
As a rule of thumb, low dynamic range formats such as PNG or JPEG are decoded with 1/2.2 upon reading and encoded with 2.2 upon writing or display (unless you specify otherwise). High dynamic range formats such as Radiance (HDR) or OpenEXR (EXR) are presumed linear and therefore are read and written with gamma 1.
Rendering itself is always linear.

Quote - SR 3 seems to have fixed this
Yes, it was intended to be fixed (see "Improved quality when combining subsurface scattering, indirect diffuse light and displacement mapping" readme entry). Glad to hear you're able to confirm.
Thread: Why Transparent Backgrounds in Poser Pro 2012? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you export the rendered image to a format that supports alpha channels (like PNG or TIFF), your background image will still be present in the file. Most image editing/viewing software will mask it out according to the alpha channel though. If you remove the mask it it will show. If you don't want that flexibility for compositing then bagginsbill's method is the way to go.
