Grrrr!!!!!
I'm sorry, I just realized I was mistaken in believeing my problem was fixed with the reinstall...As it turns out, when I reinstalled, I chose the "include 32-bit data" option (paraphrased) When my library was working with the "embedded" library, it turns out I was using the 32 bit version of the software, So, essentially, the library works fine now, but only with the 32-bit version. I primarily render in Vue, so this should work fine in most situations, but I'm sure as I create more complex scenes with dynamic properties, I'll want the power/stability of the 64 bit version. I may just choose to create characters/scenes in 32 and animate dynamic objects in 64. I'll do the monkey dance correspondence with Smith Micro, trying to locate the invisible UI files to move as they've suggested, but if I get too frustrated, working between the different versions seems like a reasonable solution. With my OS on an SSD I didn't notice any speed drawbacks on a simple character build.
Princess, I have the latest update for my video card, and I imagine the most recent flash, as I built this PC a few weeks ago, (my downloads/updates were done very recently) If I do have a dial-up modem on my motherboard, I dont recognize it in device manager or internet options as such. (could be listed as an IEEE device) I'll check my manual when I get a chance though, I use a DSL (hardwired) modem.
I feel if I do get proper instructions from Smith Micro to locate and move those hidden UI files for Win7-64, I'll have a very difficult time explaining the solution, but I'll do my best

I found a novel solution, I reinstalled the program :P Seems like everything is working fine, the library is embedded now, not sure why it defaulted differently with this instillation, but it'll work, so I'm happy. It actually took less time on my pc to reinstall the program, than it did to write an Email to Smith Micro... Jonny, Smith Micro did send me directions to do a simular function with resetting those files, but following their directions, I could not find the "hidden files" that needed to be relocated to reset UI. I think that's due to a varience between my Windows 7-64bit and Vista which I believe the instructions were originally written for. I appreciate everyone's help
Thanks,
Brian

Ester, mine was doing that too before it disappeared. It usually happened after loading an item/morph, but would fix itself after awhile (or by changing rooms) I think it's funny how every "better" generation of Poser has more absurd problems and worse tech support...I miss Curious Labs...I recieved a response from Smith Micro, but they told me a bunch of garbage I already knew with reguards to serial number (only use zeroes and no letter "o") and asked to verify my PC specs...and not to respond to their Email...I swear they're fricken useless...Grrr!
Thread: Can't find my Library Panel - Poser 8 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm having the same problem with Poser Pro, I reset to defaults for the launch, and have "Library" selected under the "window" tab. I contacted Smith Micro about this, but haven't heard back yet, I've found their support horrificly useless asking tons of questions and giving little answers. I also tried downloading updates, but the site didn't recognize my serial number. I do have multiple displays, but the library appears on neither, and oddly, the library shows up on my windows toolbar, when I click it to maximize/minimize it looks like it opens off screen to the right, but the second display is to the left. My PC is less than a month old with a Core I-7, and Nvidia gtx460 and 6 gigs of 1600 hz RAM, with the OS on SSD it rates on windows index as a 7.6 (with minor overclocking) This computer shouldn't have any troubles running the program.
Please pass on any suggestions you may have,
Thanks,
Brian
Thread: Advice for Building a system optimized for vue and poser | Forum: Vue
Hi Peggy,
I'm curious as to what version of Vue you're using, speed of Ram you're using, is your OS on an SSD, and what kind of system resources are being used during loading scenes and rendering. I think I'll be happy with 6Gb of RAM, but your input would be helpful. I also checked out your gallery, lots of good work there!
I appreciate your help

it might be a property of the material you're using, those waves look taller than the others and may be mixed materials to simulate white caps

This would surely speed up renders, but dont see how that'd help previews/loadtimes especially while modeling/composing scenes from multiple source files.
I'm curious what you're using for GPU's e-on software seemed very specific in their tests for Vue9Inf, there are cheap cards that work, many are DDR2 or DDR3 which seem archaic, and imbalanced in a farm with a modern card. I'm just curious what you put in them and how well it's working....
I just did the research on pricing a dirt cheap Phenom IIx6 machine (500watt micro ATX, mobo, 8Gb1333, 320Gb 16Mb hard drive, Radion HD 4830 GPU, CD burner) This came to $490, so it looks like I could do 3 builds on my budget, and have money to spare for electric bills.
It's an interesting idea, truthfully though, networks make my head hurt, mine's been down for about a year, Primarily because I know it'll be a long weekend of asperin and foul language to get it straightened out (2 of my network places somehow got the same address after I momentarily unplugged my NAS, and cant remember/find my password for it to reset)
Intrigued by how inexpensive this build could be, I investigated adding components getting it close to my original build (64Gb SSD, Geforce460, a SATA3 board, 850 watt power, caviar drive and same case, with 8Gb 1600Mhz dual core RAM) Inexplicably this came out to $1429 only $38 less than my current theorized Intel build, It has 2 Gb more RAM, but 286Mhz slower and with one less channel.... This Option doesn't seem very appealing. I'm almost certain the Intel would be significantly faster in these configurations (2 gigs can go through 3 channels much easier than 4Ghz through 2)
My current theorized Intel Build now has a Cooler Master Sniper case, (rugged with good airflow and ease of building) With the 64Gb SSD, and 6Gb of 1866Mhz DDR3 Tri-channel, More Ram and SSDs can be added

Thread: Poser 8... First Impressions | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi I posted this is the Vue forum, and not getting good responses. I thought you guys might be able to help. I'm running XPpro64 with a quadcore processor and 500mb Nvidia 6600 gpu. I'm currently working with Vue6 Inf-64 and Poser7, I was emailed an option to upgrade to Poser8 for a reasonable price...I noticed it did not specify that it was 64-bit friendly, however PoserPro detailed that it was, and is only slightly more money. Both have an all body morphing tool which is my main interest in upgrading (other than render/load speeds) Poser8 also advertizes import of motion capture files which is a bit of an enticement, however PoserPro allows for batch renders. Both of these are potentially useful features, but my primary interest is compatability with Vue6 64 and Skinvue (for Daz characters) especially with reguards to import speed and accuraccy. I'm also interested in better dynamic fabric/hair calculation and accurracy) I feel it's important to mention I don't use the Poser texture/repose options inside of vue, I find them too resource demanding. I believe vue6 was designed with Poser6 and 7 in mind does it accomodate for these newer versions. I'm unable to upgrade Vue anytime soon. Is it worthwhile to upgrade Poser, and which is the best version for me? I appreciate your help.

Thanks bruno that's a big help, the links there will be quite invaluable also. I'm wondering if you have any experience with the seamless map server site from the link, I cant seem to get wotkable DEMs from it. the 7.5 dems work well though

hmm...doesn't seem to indicate either way..therefore, I think it's the 32 version. My laptop is 64 bit, but my desktop where I downloaded the instillation is not. I searched through the unzipped files from the download and haven't found anything that looks like I could install an upgrade for it on my laptop. does anyone know if it's a seperate download for the 64 bit version? I'll check with E-on and let everyone know, but I think we all know how "helpful" their support can be....oh well

I've been having lots of problems crashing after importing poser elements. still objects seem to work fine, but animations (simple walks) seem to take forever to load, or to do preview animations, It actually crashed again trying to playback a preview. I've been busy developing scenes, so I haven't tried importing animations again yet, but it does seem like a serious problem....oh! I actually just realized I'm using poser 6 still...version 7 is in the mail, but the problem definately sounds familiar. I have the infinate version, and am also running a 64bit system, but don't know if the version of vue I'm using is, I don't recollect seeing anything that would indicate a 64 bit version, any ideas how to look this up?
