Thanks Wizzard. I'm glad that you know that about the point. I took some extra time to try to make that angle correctly, which wasn't particularly hard considering I had my own little real-life sword sitting right next to me for a reference. I figure that if I can sell at least 10 of this package at $5 a pop, that the time would feel well spent. I would sell them for around a dollar if I could but......
Thread: I just made this anyone interested? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hey, kool to see this. I've just completed a Ninja-to and saya for fit to the Ninja Suit from Daz, since I don't find one in the traditional shinobi style with the accompanying props that I'd like. The saya and ninja to are smart props, with morphs for the sageo(cord). http://www.semplanet.com/ninjapak.htm I'm planning to make some other props for a more well-rounded set, but things I have made don't sell, people download the piss out of them for free tho;0] Maybe we can do a little trading or something? I wish someone could make an actual gi like this, with the boots having actual soles on them. As it is, I'll probably make sole props for the existing Mike2 suit, and use the friggin karate suit over the top, so I can have my authenticity urge fulfilled..... http://www.awma.com/index.cfm/action/productdetail/product_id/6768.htm Oh well, maybe it will develop, only been looking for 4 years, and I don't make very good clothing, just props and accessories so far, as time permits.....

Well, thanks for the input. Like I said, I had mistakenly thought that doing a basic package to start might generate interest so that I would know if I should continue. That "burn out" thing after months of working on it got the best of me. I'll just have to try harder. Thanks

I possibly should have had more varied renders. The horns can be made invisible, as well as the flaps or even rivets if need be. The textures can be mixed and matched, and I was doing this as the basic package, and making available many different textures and variations as a separate package. The things on the side of the helmet are metal flaps, similar to the Roman Legionnaire's helmet or Samurai helmet, both being an influence in the design. I left the spikes with a grey metallic look, instead of ivory appearance for this shot. The other thing that I've been planning is actual stains, "damaged" geometry, where the geometry would be actually altered. This was to be the $10 package, with the other parts about $5 if a person wanted more options. I've only submitted one other item before, so I understand if I've not promoted it well. But I wanted to see how it went without pouring everything into one package, which may have been a huge mistake.

Well, thank you, but see the thing is, this product is already available here, and so far no takers. Over at 3D Commune, there have been a couple hundred page hits of people looking at it but...... So I don't know if it's just buried with so many other items, or because I haven't done anything else to it. I don't want to spend any more time on it now because of that. It seems that if I'm not making clothes for Vicky or photoreal textures, that I can't compete. Maye I should make a sexy Vicky character wearing this armor instead, and it might sell. But thanks for the comment anyway.

I'm glad you put this in the wishlist, as I had started building a Poser-ready little ship, but wasn't sure if there would be adequate demand for it.....still not 100% sure about it yet....

Well, I'm there. I'm surrounded by fellow users in the Southeast US. Definitely need to get together sometime folks.
Thread: Anyone need a tree like this? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ok, I put it up yesterday, and already it has 205 downloads. Time to get serious and make it available in the marketplace. I may make 4 or 5 textures, and sell this one for like $5 or $10 bucks. Maybe $10 with leaves and $5 without, or something.

Cute. I think my first one was making poser nerd dip at the hips...and no sound. So you're ahead of where I was.

Yeah, looking good. Ready for world domination. I'd like to see snake eyes too, he's my favorite.

Yah, TalleyJC I do agree there. I started using Poser at version 3, and immediately grabbed up version 4 as soon as it came out. But after a while, I realized that my dreams of higher quality, and faster workflow would have to be done with Lightwave. I've been thrilled that I could use the Pro Pack and get those Poser scenes to look good rendered and animated in Lightwave, with all of the effects that I desired. (Ok, cloth with Motion Designer is not working so well for me.) That's why when I saw Poser5 coming out, the hair and cloth were the two most important things to me. But when I found out that those are most likely not going to port over to Lightwave in the next Pro Pack, then I realize that I cannot move forward with that. I can pay $395 for Sasquatch to take care of my hair needs, but the cloth seems out of my reach with my current configuration. I really have been reading the posts this time around, and that makes me still afraid to shell out the measly $129 to upgrade to P5. I've been talking more with the guys from Daz, and if they pull out something that takes care of my needs since I'll do the bulk of my work with Mike2 and Vicky2, well....
Thread: Question about veins | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks, but I was more concerned with the appearance of veins than working on musclature, which is pretty easy when using Mike2. I used this guy since he loads quicker, and so far, I don't have any maps for Mike2 yet.
Thread: Fire? Some success... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Oh, and I forgot to mention...why wouldn't you just want to video a fireplace and use the avi? Also, I'm playing with the colors and getting other effects going. If someone wants to try them out, like mapped to a sphere inside a transparent sphere or something and let me know if I might continue this route? I can get those effects easily within Lightwave, but I know there may be some users trying to do things with fire within Poser 5, and go a slightly different route, so I'd like to make some fire and smoke effects things available in the marketplace. If not, I'll just tromp back to my cave and cook my marshmallows alone. Just check the site to see if I'm onto anything useful. Heh, lemme know sumpin'k?

Hi there. I had replied to a post like this last week. Forgive me if I'm talking to the same person again. I had already gotten Carrara Studio last year and played with it's fire settings. I have done a little demo here using it in the background with Poser 4 (haven't moved up to 5 yet) I figured for my purposes that I would make more of those and use them as animated materials when I got P5. I was trying to see if that would be interesting to anyone here. Here is the little hastily done video, with no lightwork, as I would do my finishing work in Lightwave for that anyway.Thread: Something Positive for a Change of Pace - Thanks | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yeah, thats true. I feel kind of bad downloading free stuff, then the person didn't have his info in there, and you can't give them credit, but oh well. It's been a big help in things that I do, especially when they say it's ok to use in commercial scenes. I'm not getting rich off of it, but lord knows it can be a real time-saver for those of us who are not great modelers.
