One thing I'd like to know is what render size are we talking about (600 X 600 or bigger) and approximately how many objects of what complexity. I have trouble with two people (V3S3, etc) and almost any settings. At best only a few (three or so) lights. Any ideas for how many complex object can be handled?
Thread: Scene size limits of Poser 6...? | Forum: Poser Technical
For Poser 6 Under the main menu its Edit->General Preferences Then click the last tab labeled Misc At bottom right under Render Memory is an input for Memory limit buffer The values are in Megabyte according to the Poser 6 manual. PLEASE NOTE: I tried this again and apparently I was right the first time, 1024 (1G Byte) is the limit.

Well, I rechecked and Poser 6 SR2 seems to handle a memory size of 1538 OK. 2048 fails and goes negative, so maybe it has to be slightly less than physical memory.

With all due respect, I'm not sure I buy that you could have up to 8 characters, unless the textures are low-res. I'm not saying you didn't do it, but I can't get Poser to do more than 2 or 3 with high res textures even at 1024 or lower settings. Transmapped hair generates a lot of memory too, as do some props or characters. And I have a fast machine (2.5 Ghz Athlon XP, 2G ram @ PC3200). Poser 6 only lets you set the max memory usage in the preference settings to 1G. If you go higher, it thinks you have NEGATIVE memory, and nothing will render. Sorry, but I'm so frustrated with Firefly. I think the should get rid of it in the release.

Best shoes are by idler168 (former B-man). They pose easily and conform darn near perfect. I agree with the previous posters, get the free stuff first, it works great; and then you can change materials in the material room.

E-Frontier needs to seriously hire someone to work out the memory usage on Poser for the next version. There's no excuse for this. I have a fast system w/2GB of fast RAM and 300 GB of disk space. Don't tell me they can't manage two high end textured characters simultaneously. They've got memory, it's called a file system. Use it. Or dump FireBug, whatever. Sorry, but this is really frustrating.

This is really pissing me off. Why can't Poser handle a 4K texture? What values for rendering you folks use?

Thanks! I like it enough to buy one of your other UniFluid packs. Works great, but it does use quite a few resources.
Thread: V3 null character? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I hate to reprise this, but is there a Null CR for use with V3 SAE or do the current Nulls (see above) work only with V3 sr2 or sr1? I can not get them to work with V3 SAE? The CR2 is quite different : the actors are similar but the stuff below is very different? any suggestions or solutions?

On the same note, how do you handle crosstalk with the V3 SAE? every thing I have tried has failed: I either lose the morphs or don't get them. Yes I have read the FAQs (confusing and I am very computer literate). This crosstalk problem is making Poser much less enjoyable. Is there a NULL CR for V3 SAE or M3?

Help! I loaded Rob's Null and followed the instructions to a tee, but I still get crosstalk: This is on Poser 4 (non-propack), with V2 and M2. Does his Null work with V2 and M2 or only the millenium figures? Do you have to load the scene with a null from startup (prefered state) or can you delete the figure so there is "No Figure", load a null and then proceed? Also, Rob mentions something about preparing the .CR2 files which I didn't fully understand. Help!
