Both of my parents passed away in the last year. Since I am an only child, it was quite difficult for me, and I am having many problems with depression about it. You may recall the pic I posted in my gallery as "Homage to my Dad". I have been having difficulties with the holidays passing, and worked on this today to try and ease some of the pain I'm feeling.

Oh you poor dear, you know I know exactly what you are going through, I lost mine when I was a lot younger, it has been alot of years but it still feels like yesterday. That feeling doesn't go away, but the found memories of them does build strong and I lived off of that....they made their life for us....you make them proud of you, they are still with you and watching you. I adored your picture....you did a glorious job. Sharen

What a wonderful scene. Great work. They've obviously reached many, that some label "the least of these". A suggestion for those special days - Light a candle in their honor and place nearby. Let it be a reminder that they're close with you always. Their legacy lives on in you.

I don't mean this to be humourous, but you are like me, an "orphan". My heart goes out to you

Thank you very much, I appreciate your kind thoughts a lot. It was a very hard year last year, for other reasons as well. My parents were actually pretty interesting people; very involved in the arts, ahead of their time in the 50s-60s-70s; my mom worked full time, while my dad was in art school, and he was "Mr Mom" when it was very unusual for dads to stay home with the children. I"ve had them on my mind a lot the last few months, and it really helps to have friends, even online friends, who understand.
