Subject: Using a Poser 5 Animation file in Light Wave 7.0

I was wondering if anyone could answer this question, and maybe help explain it. I want to create an animation scene in Light Wave with a poser figure and animation file. I have a scene in LW that I want to put a poser figure into. The scene in LW is already finished. So I simply want to do all the animation figure work in Poser 5 then put it into LW and composite it all together in one scene. I was wondering if you can create a poser animation file then import it into Light Wave and maintain all the animation information, figure, textures etc. Just as it works in Poser 5. The reason is I am not familiar enough with LW as far as doing animations. Can I do this. If anyone could give me an idea of what I need to do to accomplish this I would really appreciated it. Thanks Bill B

Currently there is no way to import from Poser5 to LW. You can export models from Poser5 as obj files and import those into LW. Once imported into LW you then have to rig the poser imported model for animation, time consuming. CuriousLabs has posted that they are working on a Poser5 plugin for lw and other 3d applications, but there is no time frame when that plugin will be available. Bottom line, if you want to use poser 5 and lightwave you have to do all the animation in lightwave and rigging in lightwave. I'm in the same position, I only have Poser5. If you have poser4 and the pro pack there is a LW plugin and you can use import animations with that, right now, that is the only way.
