Subject: saving the effects of magnets

Poser version: 5
Models: Michael 2.0 + Daz 15th Century Armour

Okay, I applied the Leg Defenders from 15th Century Armour to Michael 2.0, but they didn't cover the shins properly. So I selected Leg Defenders > Left Shin and created a magnet. I increased the x, y and z parameters of the mag zone to 200 and moved the magnet itself in the z direction so that the armour covered the shin. Now I have a couple of questions:

  1. How do I save the effect of the magnet? I tried saving the project and then deleting the magnet, but that took the effects of the magnet away too.

  2. The armour still isn't covering the calf muscle. I tried putting a second magnet on the left shin and moving it backwards in the z direction, but that then counter-acted the effect of the first magnet on the front of the shin. Any ideas?

There are probably really obvious answers to both these questions and maybe I'm just being dense, but oh well...:)

heyas; it's not hard, just do this: first, set up your magnet stuff. then select the object (in this case, the shin armor) and spawn a morph target. name it something (like front-fix or fix1). now you can move the magnet and zone and bits around to the back and fix the back of the calf. spawn another morph. when you're done, you can delete the magnet bits, and then turn on the morphs you made. remember to save the armor back to the library after you make all the morphs, if you want them there the next time you load it. oh, if your second magnet is messing up the first one, you need to adjust the mag zone. make sure the zone is only encompassing the vertices you want to move. if you install targomagnet by traveller, that will be a big help in showing you the area of magnet effect.
