DTE with volumetrics, 2D-planes, UFX, DTE with normal textures, 360 degree panoramics with spheres and randomizers. And then lot's of layering and masking in PSP.

My first impression was that it would make a good stained glass, but the more I look at it, I see more things that it could be. Very interesting to look at. One of those picts that you could look at for a long while. - TJ

For the people who want to see how I make my abstracts here's some effects images I use to layer these abstracts together.

And the 5th. Feel free to use these pics to make your own abstracts. I'd like to see what you come up with.

cool, I like some of the effects used as much as the combined. They are great. I played around with your instructions but I must of done something really wrong because it didn't produce anything near as beautiful as yours. I will try again sometime. Angela

treemont ( ) posted Tue, 04 March 2003 at 11:38 AM

yeah, i also tried before, but this gives me a better idea. did you make the effects in bryce and combined in psp?

Rayraz ( ) posted Wed, 05 March 2003 at 12:30 AM

1st effect is Bryce mudcrack inverted and a heavily blurred version of a texture made in UFX. I combined them in PSP. The 2nd effect is a combination of 2 filters in UFX. The 3rd effect is a bunch of spheres in bryce randomized and rendered with 360 degree panoramic mode. The 4th effect is made with the terrain editor in bryce (mudcracks). The contrast was boosted and to make the image smooth again it got a heavy 'edge-perserving-smooth' in PSP. The 5th effect is a little DTE-work mapped on a sphere.
