Subject: PBooost !?

Hello. Have P4 and propack with a lot of things installed in my runtime directory, i was looking at PBooost... It seems good but i was wondering how it works? Does it actually dynamically change the names of the different folders to hide the unwanted ones in P4? If so, isn't it a risk of messing the whole runtime on a crash or so? Looking for some users feedback, thanks :)

It allows you to create extra folders in Runtime which it accesses by bank switching. For example, in Pose I now have PoseDefault, Pose V3, Pose Vicky Poses, Pose MAT Poses, Pose Misc. Poser only sees one of these at any one time, the rest are hidden from it by the code within PBoost. You can, however, switch from one bank to another on the fly, provided all your internal file references are squeaky clean. You can find more about that in an earlier thread...

Like Sam said you can have as many different folders as you want & switch them in & out whenever you like, right now I have 16 different pose folders I can swap between while poser is running & I haven't lost a single one yet. Taking Sam's folders as an example, if he's using PoseDefault at the time he's using it it's called pose, when he switches over to pose V3 that will be renamed to pose & the other will be renamed to PoseDefault. I've had PBooost since August last year & it's really one of the best purchases I've made since I started using poser.

Just gotta add my .02. PBoost f'ing rocks. And Howard (?) provides support at the drop of a hat. Don't even think about it, just buy it. You will not be disappointed. Though I recommend using the test tool in free stuff if you are running win2k or XP. best, e.d.

The test tool is described as being for people running FAT32. I am under XP with NTFS so i guess it should work whatever!?

I use XP home with NTFS & it works fine but you should try the compatability test run CorrectReference on your runtime then try the test again, CorrectReference is hosted by Netherworks.

ohh, I think there is another test if I recall... e.d.

I highly recommend it (and I don't do that with too many things) - It is actually better than advertised and will make many Poser chores so much easier for you!
