I know that I dont have the settings right here for the hair. I've fiddled and fiddled with the settings and cant get the look that I had managed to achieve in Poser. I could use some help in understanding the blame texture editor. I used the same jpgs that I used in Poser and cant seem to get Bryce to cooperate. Here's my settings for those who need them Surface Channel A B Transparent X Diffusion 80 Ambience 20 Specularity 0 Metallicaly(SP?) 0 Bump Height 40 Transparency 20 Reflection 70 Refraction -- -- Channel A is the texture map, Channel B is the transparency map. I read the manual on all this and got totally confused. Can anyone help? Dave

First thing, make sure you have "blend transparency" checked in the drop down menu in the materials editor... that's the thing I always forget. we covered transparency maps in Bryce a few posts back... Look at the posts for Kyoko hair and I know there are others before that. Look at those and see if they help. If not, ask and people will be happy to try and explain further. Don't give up hope! Good luck! Pat

Here is what I do. It is kind of a cheesy quick way but always works for me. Select the object that you want to map. Click the edit materials thing. Go to miscellaneous and turn on the steel cage material. In the grid block (section a) load the transparancy map. In the greyish block (section b) load the material and bump if there is one. Change specular highlight to something that is not light blue. Should match the item in question bascially. Alter bump if need be and viola ... you are all set ... Good luck
