A quick beer and a good scratch before putting on his armor for the day? Had to comment on the humor of the image.
This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

LOL, it's actually a coffee mug, but now that I look at it...it does look like a beer can. :) Aldaron I checked on your suggestions: Yes cast shadow is on, and when I increased shadow intensity, it removed quite a bit of the "light through" effect, yet the rest of the scene became so dark you could barely make it out. So I'll paint in by hand. Thanks for your suggestions. ICM
Your beams look nice and I agree with the others - for the pain they cause the results of volumetric world are worth the price. You need to add more samples to your beams (which unfortunately means more render time) but it willl also smooth them out and fix the shadow accuracy. Also either turning off the sun or (a better solution) is to make it a shade of dark grey until your background 'ambient' light allows your beams to be more dramatic. Keep working on it and it will be great! Scott : )
He's not transparent in any way is he? I'm not joking, it's the kind of stupid thing I'd do....not that you're stupid.........(when you're in a hole..stop digging) you know what I mean.... The Bryster

And in my final hours - I would cling rather to the tattooed hand of kindness - than the unblemished hand of hate...
ICM,
Agent Smith noticed a few weeks ago that a light might penetrate a supposedly solid object in Bryce.
Try reading this thread as it may shed some light on the subject.
