I almost deleted this one as soon as I took it because I wanted a shot of the bird eating the seeds. The bird was facing me, and saw me just before I took the shot. He was already in the process of taking off by the time I took it. He was in a big hurry because he dropped the seeds in his beak, and quickly turned around. Note the seeds still in the air! One nanosecond later and he was gone. Taken at a very fast shutter speed, cant exactly remember. This is a Blue Jay. They were almost totally wiped out here in Memphis last summer due to an outbreak of the West Nile virus. A Blue Jay sighting now is extremely rare.

Actually fict, I remember seeing them when I used to live in Florida. Guess they adapt almost anywhere. I just know the suckers are damn fast. This one comes around.... I'll get him soon.

I thought we had 'em here in CA. Either that or they are spraypainted birds? Bsteph

Oh how awful Marshall....(the West Nile thing not your image)....nice to see some of them survived. We have tons of them up here but the West Nile thing has been hitting these parts too. Nice action shot!

I am, therefore I create.......

It seems to me that instead of getting your intended shot, you got a different shot of something pretty hard to capture! I wouldn't have even considered deleting it!!
