This has always been the way it is as far as I can remember...it isn't a recent change. I think you can comment more than once in reply to comments on your own images, but with other peoples images it is just one comment...if you type a new one, the previous one is automatically replaced (as you have found out) :-)>
Hmm, I thought it was a recent change as well. Only a month or two ago there was someone who had two comments on one of my images (they had double posted), but the second vanished sometime well after he/she had posted it.

really? how come I was able to post more than once before? indeed, I've done this on some of my own art posted here. This "one comment" thing started when they changed the gallery interface last year, from the old style. I figured it was a desired change so I never complained. proof is on my gallery picture attached... I've responded twice there. You can make unlimited comments on your own gallery images, but only one on other people's (previous comments will disappear in lieu of the newest one)....I think it's always been that way. (A double-posted comment would be different, that's a "glitch", rather than 2 separate comments - like when you inadvertantly double-post in a forum cos it's taken so long you think it hasn't worked, and repost, and then go back and delete the extra post.)

Just curious if this is one of the changes to the gallery since I don't recall reading about it.
I posted a comment, read something I missed in the authors notes and went back to add another comment regarding what they'd said (about a hand pose) and my new comment wiped out the first one. Glad I noticed it or my comment would have been confusing so I edited it again.
So is this an error or something new? I haven't tried multiple comments in my own gallery but sometimes I'll post more than one "thanks for the comments".
