Subject: Couple of lighting questions

Hey, I just got Vue. I have been looking through the manual, but I can't find answers on the following: 1) How do you do volumetric lighting? I'm sure it's possible, but I can't figure out how. 2) If I want a shaft of colored light (e.g. a light saber) do I use light or just a fancy material? If it's in the manual, just let me know where. Thanks!

  1. p. 201 of the manual. 2) possibly the same page. I also like to give objects the 'Halo' material then turn up the light effects settings on the material and put a light inside it.

Thanks, I didn't see it in the tutorial section. My bad! And to think, I was going to go through some of the tutorials tomorrow! (Well, I've had the program two days ...) Thanks!

I'm new to it too. I've yet to try that tutorial. Just noticed it when flipping pages. I've had the program a little over 2 weeks. But they've been busy weeks.
