The Cinema 4D R8 base module is also within that competative price range. It may be worth downloading the demos of all those that interest you, to see how you get on with them... Cheers

I agree, the best thing to do is to download the demos and see which one you like best. I'm a trueSpace user and I can tell you that there's a very good plug-in for trueSpace which lets you import and export .obj files into and from trueSpace. Vue can import trueSpace .cob files, so you can model something in trueSpace and then import it into Vue easily. Also, if you download the trueSpace demo, soon you'll get some e-mails from Caligari with offers of discounts or other incentives. I think there's also an Easter special going on right now. TrueSpace has a unique interface which some people love, others hate, so it's best if you try it yourself and see how you like it. If you download a demo for tS5 or above, I have a tutorial that tells you how to find your way in it here: http://www.render-lab.com/Getting_around_1.htm HTH! Sue

I use Truespace extensively, I also own Carrara. Both work. The only way to tell which is the one for you is, as Sue says, is to try a demo first. Both applications to my view are very well supported.

I think Carrara, but am interested in ZBrush. Of course the FREE Daz3D Studio is right around the corner!

I don't think that you'll be able to do modeling in Daz Studio though and bungle wants a modeling program.

and don't forget to go by the Modelling forum here and pick up some free modelling software..I'm still new to it, but I've seen heads, cars, submarines, etc., in Wings 3d, Anim8tor, etc. Truespace (I have 3.2) is a little hard to get used to with the interface, but I've seen some good work done with it. Good luck.

I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit

Check out this link too. You can get a full version of Amapi 4.15 for free. Just go and DL it. It is a good modeler too. Hope this helps, Joe www.3-AXIS.com
