Subject: V3-Hbrid on the mac - does it work?

Heyas, has anyone of you gals and guys got the V3 Hybrid from Freestuff working on the mac? I'm struggling since five days... I used a PC at work to convert the files, but when I try to open the cr2 with the V2 morphs applied Poser crashes without any error message. :((( This is really sad since I'd love to use the huge wardrobe for V2 on V3. Spend way to much money for it to make no use of it. Just a note: Yes, I've run the files through mac converter after creating the obj- and the cr2-files. Many thanks in advance for helping me out of this lake of tears, Phil

Phil, I started working on this project last night, using Virtual PC 6 with Windoze 2000. RTEncoder seemed to work fine initially, but following the included instructions from Viomar produced an error in the second step, where you mate the intermediate file with the V1 or V2 obj. Maybe that 2nd step should have been "encode" rather than "decode?" That worked, but then it was late, and I gave up. Working with Windoze gives me a pain in the you-know-what, but will keep at it. Welcome to the lake/vale of tears! all the best, texboy

Texboy, I had the same problem. Looks like it's amisspelling in the tutorial. Could you pls. raise your hand, when you're able to get the V2 morphs to work with the original V3Hybrid cr2 file? Keeping my fingers crossed... Phil

I'll keep plugging away at it until one of us (me or Virtual PC) hollers Uncle! There was a thread farther back in this forum about this very thing, and one of the Mac users had success with VPC and the hybrid gal, so there's hope! bcnu, texboy

Man! I hate this! I can't help you guys, cause i don't have access to macs anymore. I don't think there's any typos in the readme. It's encoded in 2 steps, since 2 different geometry files are used. So, "Decode" & "Decode". All i know, is i tried "Virtual PC" with a similar RTE file & it worked the first time. So, the problem must be something else. Make sure you have the latest .obj of V3. And that neither V2 Or V3's .obj has been modified. As for tranfering MTs on V2's body, MorphManager is the easiest & safest way to go. Again, MM works in "Virtual PC". I never tried MacConcverter, so i don't know what it does exactly to the files(Maybe something to do with things such as "Carriage returns"??). Hopefully, a Mac user successfully did the conversion & will enlighten us all! Marco

Thanks, guys. I'll keep on trying over the weekend and let you know about the results. Phil
