WinNT has better memory management than 98, however WinNT is not nearly as user friendly than 98. Most PROs do prefer NT over 95/98 and many don't use windows at all. Like 3DSmax and Lightwave or Maya which handles threads far better than Carrara, they will use more server class OS's to expand the boundaries of thier resources to serveral computers. Also Duals are many times better than single processors depending on what APP you are running. Carrara has SHITTY threads but it does run 1/3 times faster on my dual than my single. If the program was finished upon release, I am sure it would have run faster but it's okay.

Alright, here's my dilema, I am presently using Win98 for Carrara. When attempting a 3D Boolean subtraction/insertion/ union or other operation I will get a rendering failure with "A C++ runtime Error...invalid page fault...." message. I would like to know 2 things: a) Does Carrara run better and less buggy in WIN NT (ie should I get WIN NT); and b) Does anyone know of a workaround for the above rendering failure?
