well, the textures are rock, metal and bathroom tiles, but that's just because i was lazy and i need to get some things figured out in photoshop before i start making my own... what else, the actual block of buildings was made in wings after a tutorial for a 3dsmax plugin. didn't come out QUITE as it looked in there, but it's only 20% or so worse. So meh... what do you guys think? I couldn't just put in the naked default texture bloc because it would have been no great sight so i kinda went for the venetian look. savvy? =D drac (ps: oh, and even at 800x600 the full scene has something like 2 megs)

hmm...been doing something the same recently. I've been (in Wings 3d) taking primitives, extruding all faces slightly, and also playing with the Mirror command (if you don't select a face, it mirrors all of them. Real quick way to make complex buildings..;). The map looks good, maybe just build up buildings of different heights, maybe a gondola or 2, bridge of Sighs,St. Mark's square, Rialto bridge, etc.?..;) You can always bring the focus to a lower altitude to save yourself some work. Depends on where you want to go with it..

I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit

Interesting effect, if you make several further variants and mix them in it could really rock.

Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!

guys, the onl wip that i'm working on is of the model itself. this is just something i put together in 5 minutes so i could get a realism check on the buildings themselves :)

I ddont know they seem kinda flat to me, too low. its hard to really check for realism - cuz the texture makes them look sunken roch222
